In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy catherine kimball scammer

Fauna Family,
I hope it was ok, but being a huge fan of a local radio morning show in the Tampa market I have sent an email to the show. This show spans a large area of FL included the tampa and orlando areas. I am not sure they will take an interest in this and as you can see in my below attached email I have a doubt about what they can actually say on air about names and addresses. But the show has a good number of connections and is able to get a lot of things done for the right reasons. I am hoping they at least air a minimal amount of information in the local markets to A. stop locals from falling for her scam B. Scare the daylights out of this person if they happen to hear it on air!!!

Email to The MJ Morning Show below:

Mj,
I am a long time fan of your show. Thank you all very much for the hard work you put in day in and day out! I know how much you enjoy animals and your love of the law. So I wanted to see if you could push this out on your morning show. Since you reach many areas of the FL market and expand much past there it might be a good one to put in your "public service announcement" file. There is a lady scamming people for on-line purchases claiming to have torts and snakes for sale. I will not go into great detail, but will link you to the forum showing pages of proof and posts from the victims.
I am not sure how much information you can give on air, but I thought you might like the opportunity to save more people from falling into this trap.

Below is the link to the forum where this person was uncovered. Beware there are 20 pages of posts. Since I know Fester has nothing better to do than sit around and read this stuff while he drinks his morning milkshakeS I have cced him as well.

You can skim enough of these post to get the idea. Pay special attention to the screen shots provided by the super sleuths of the site.

With your many connections in this area of FL. I thought you might also be able to draw some local law enforcements attention to this matter. There have been a few reports filed on the case to date and our family community would love to see justice...

480-took this out to protect my peace.... (this is my cell if you would like to contact me. I hope not to fall into your 2 call rule and yes it is an AZ number, but I just recently moved back to st. Louis....and yes I had to listen to you on IHeart Radio while in Seattle and AZ. lol)

Again...
I hope I was in the clear in sending this to a local radio show in the scammers market and if not I will say that I am very sorry up front!

WEBSITE TO FILE A REPORT

Hi Folks, After being in contact with the Port Richey Police Department, I was told that all of you with issues regarding Catherine Kimball should file a report with the website www.IC3.gov - this is where the police go for information when they have a case they are working on with other crimes their suspect may have perpetrated. I am happy to report that Catherine sent me the $300 she owed me! The police said that only about 1% of people scammed get their money, so I am very, very happy. Good luck to all of you. File a report on that website.

Thanks for the site, Torty. I'm glad you were refunded. I'm still out my $35 for a leopard tortoise, but won't give up. I know it's not much, but I will continue fighting for it back.

Sorry folks dont believe you got your money back. This witch cant be trusted and who knows it may just be her !!!!!! Prove your return. This is a true scam!!! Catherine You will be caught!!!!!!!! From Silent And Deadly !!!!!!!!!!! Blacky!!!!! My eyes are on you, keep it up . The chicks in prison cant wait to meet you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just sold a tortoise to Catherine Kimball and she wrote me a check on a closed account. I sold her a terrific leopard two year old, plus overnight shipping for $260.00. She is definately a scammer. I would advise to only get money orders, credit card number, or paypal - which I will now set up. Never had a problem before. Wish I had done some research!

First you say she sent you a check for $260.00.

Why did she send you more money than what she scammed you for??????
I did check out your name and location. There is someone with your name in that city. Seems odd to me that she paid you back, and no one else. Not only that, but you have no other activity on this site, outside of this thread. Maybe a mod can do an IP check.

Florida Law

Florida law states that checks over the amount of $250.00 which are "bad" can have an additional demand of $40.00 to cover NSF and other bank charges which may occur. I had send her a demand letter which I got from the web site of the State Attorney General. It states the amounts of checks and amounts over you can request.

You shouldn't of gotten any bank charges. Bank charges are for people who right the bad check. How about giving me the name of the Port Richey police officer you spoke to. I think I will go over and ask that officer a few questions, since it is less than five minutes from my house.

Receiving a bad check can cause damages to the person receiving it. It's not at all beyond reason that the law would allow for damages/penalties to be accepted in addition to the original amount the check was for.

You've every right to ask your questions...but I can't help but wonder why you feel someone would come on here and lie about receiving compensation after being scammed? I'm just curious.

I don't believe she got any money back. Catherine is a scammer. She is not in the business of refunding people's money. No one who lives 300 miles away is going to take legal action over $300.00. Catherine knows this. Even if someone was foolish enough to take someone to court over it, and even win, you still have to get them to pay.

Here is Catherine's post earlier in this thread.

Hi, I bought from this person about a week ago and my baby tortoise arrived yesterday. I dont know why this person is doing this, but they may be doing it to other people also. In which case, its called SLANDER.
I feel sorry for this catherine person, and the worse part is that she probably doesn't know that her name is plastered all over the internet.

Here ahe actually comes on and tries to say she got scammed. But she was not too bright since it was herself. After she made her post, she convienently changed her location to Oklahoma, when we all know she lives in Florida.

If I ripped someone off, 3000 miles away for $300.00 I wouldn't even think about paying them, because I know they would never be able to make me pay it.

In this case we have a person who has scammed people, and I am sure it is more then we know. But none of them who are in the reprile community have gotten any money back. This person torty2 popps up on the scene all of the sudden, and bam, she gets her money back.

Do I believe she got her money back? NO

I ment to put 3000 miles. I put my correction in bold red.

Oh, I've no doubt that Catherine is capable of slimy acts of deception, like pretending to be her own customer. But it doesn't make sense to pretend to be someone whom she was somehow forced to pay back. It's not like this person is claiming Catherine is suddenly a good-guy who is trying to make everything right. She pushed hard enough...pushed the right buttons....and got her money back. How? :shrug01: Beats the heck out of me. And maybe there IS something amiss.....but I fail to see the benefit or gain for someone to lie about that...or for Catherine herself to make up such a persona. I'll certainly watch, though, and see if any of your questions get answered.

I don't believe torty2 was ever sent a check in the first place. So she was never ripped off. I believe this is a planned attempt to try and make Catherine look like a good person. If a person ripped you off for $260.00, they are never going to pay you more than that unless ordered to by a judge. Even then, the way the legal system works, you still have to get them to pay you. Catherine is a scammer, bottom line. This means she scams for money, and she is scamming trying to clear her name. How many people have come on here, who have been ripped off for more then 260 bucks, and have never seen a penny? Catherine knows that no one 3000 miles away is going to take legal action over 260 bucks. So she never would have sent anything.

Brian.. I'll be down that way Thanksgiving weekend... My sister lives in Brookesville and I'll be driving right past Port Richie on my way to Lutz. I was planning on printing out this thread and handing it over to the Police station on the way but if you could do it, something might get done quicker.

I also have to say that I'm a little suspicious of this situation.

How did she pay you, check or paypal..etc? Can you post copies of the evidence?
Thanks.

I just wonder if she even realizes that because of her address and so much personal info pasted everywhere , that she could easily get a visit by someone she has scammed ? That could be bad. I know of people that have been beaten to a pulp over 20 buck!! I think it would be wise for her to fess up and start paying back. People like this make me sick at my stomach. Hope you guys get a refund but it seems that is not going to happen

Thank you Judy, you are exactly right.

I do appreciate being told I'm right once in a while. :p

But I also think it would be very prudent if you could answer some of the questions asked and/or provide more details on exactly how you got your money back. If nothing else, it might prove VERY helpful to other people who have been scammed in similar ways.
