In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everybody
Unfortunately NYC Health Code made impossible to keep My 2 Ball Pythons (find them good homes before i moved from Florida) but that doesn't mean that i give up keeping reptiles :)

Recently browsing internet i find snake who is just sunning for me because of size and color and pattern. I'm talking about subspecies of Beauty Snake called Cave Dwelling Rat Snake Elaphe (Orthriophis) taeniura ridleyi.

My question is: Are anybody here have any experience with this gorgeous snakes??

I need some tips about husbandry and care of this snake. And I need to know where i can buy one of this sunning animals.

I'm gonna be on White Plains show so if any of You can point me to person who actually breeding them I'll be very happy :)

Thanks In Advance

Rafal

NY lol you know next thing you know they will do something crazy like ban smoking in bars and smoking 50 feet from store entrances. Oh wait.......lol

NYC is more strict than upstate. Lol no Ball Pythons allowed. Thats about as gay as a Bangkok hooker with a Adams apple.

I have seen a couple people keep this snake. They all said they were a pleasure to have and was a very cool snake to own. Care is pretty standard 85 degrees hot side, 75 degrees cool side, Water bowl. they are no different than keeping corn/rat snakes. Maybe mist when about to shed. there should also be someone at the show that you would be able to find one of these guys. I don't think they would be hard to find.

I have a female, probably the most interesting snake i've ever owned. They grow to impressive sizes, too. I guarantee you that you will not regret buying one of these, They are awesome.

She is about 115cm at the moment, although she's only 11months old and I haven't been feeding her too heavily. Her cage is 120cm x 60cm x 60cm and that will be fine for about another six months or so.
She is a very placid creature as long as she is out of the cage ie. Not cornered. They have a banger of a feeding response as well, she literally catches food out of the air!!!
In keeping her hot side at about 28 deg celcius and her cool side is about 22. Humidity is said to be a little more than other Orthriophis species and I'm keeping it at about 60% and I get perfect sheds each time. I'll post some pics later on once she's shed.
Just by the way I'd recommend providing them with lots of hiding spots, they seem to be less highly strung if you do that.

Here's all mine. Hand selected amazing specimens. One of my favorite snakes. PM if you'd like some info on husbandry and care.

Eeeee... You Know that right now You need post pictures of hatchings and I have priority for buying one when they hatch :) ;)

I am really glad I found this thread. I have been looking for info like this about them. I talked to a breeder down in Fl and got some info on them, but I wanted to hear first hand from people that keep them and not just breed them. I have found 2 or 3 breeders in Fl and the seem to rang from $125 to $200.
Dont know if this is ok but here is some contact info

Pasco Pete is the breeder I talked to but I lost his email and number, and I know he should have a clutch by the end of spring. If I come across his number again I'll post it. Found him on kingsnake.com classifieds in the Oldworld Ratsnake section

I keep them as pets, and due to popular demand I've decided to breed them to produce NICE looking babies. the caves you see advertised on KS are so brown and ugly that they shouldn't be sold at all. Most of them are w/c from central malaysia. If you're going to buy a baby cave beauty, ask for pictures of the parents first. Cave beauties go through color changes as they grow into adults. Cameron Highlands caves are just stunning with a LOT of yellow. Southern malaysian caves are more of a white to cream, and there's variations in between from cream to grey to brown to bright orange. You just gotta find the one that you like most. Side note... don't impulse with these guys. Get good stock.

Riley and Kira's babies are due for June or July, but they were basically pre ordered. The parents are on my iherp account. Look me up. flboy21283

Ok so with one are Yours.. Cameron Highlands Or Southern Malaysian?? and i was 100% serious I want one.... and June/July is a perfect time for me... Keep us posted Please :)

I will be sure to keep everyone posted. The white female is southern malaysian and the big super orange and yellow male is just an odd bright coloration of a northern Cave. Cameron highlands are cream with bright yellow stripes down their backs. Truly amasing animals. There's one or two people with them, and they are awesome critters. I'll post updates when she starts to show, it should be about 6 to 8 weeks.

Great news!!! We picked up another female at the Tampa Repticon today. The demand for Riley's babies was too high, so I got another female to hopefully give us some eggs this year. She's a peach color, so hopefully we'll get a variety of colors between the two clutches.

Sweet. I'm going to be getting rid of my king to make room for one so let me know, I have family in Tampa Bay so I would probably be looking to pick one up this summer when I am down visiting.
