I have 2, unsexed '16 captive bred Tabasco mud turtles [Kinosternon acutum] available right now. This species is not produced in large numbers in the United States and there are only a few breeders producing them, including myself. Import from their native countries of Mexico, Belize and Guatemala is illegal in most cases, making them even harder to find in the US.
People often ask me for them months after I've sold out, so this is your opportunity. Every captive bred baby may serve to reduce collection pressure on wild populations.
These hatchlings are perfect, active, growing and feeding like crazy on a variety of foods, including pellets, worms and dried krill. They take pellets with gusto, usually just a day or two out of the egg. This species is sought after by mud turtle enthusiasts for its pure beauty. Adults of both sexes display ruby red eyes and their carapaces look like fine polished wood. However, even general and new enthusiasts can appreciate Tabasco muds, since they also offer a very practical turtle for keeping by people without a ton of room. Adults top out just over 4 inches. This is truly a great species to keep, not seen in many collections.

Terms of Sale:
Payment: $250 each, plus shipping. I prefer PayPal and require 3% of the sale to cover PayPal's fees, which protect you and me.
Shipping: I ship overnight through an approved shipper who uses FedEx and UPS. I will only ship Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays to protect the animal(s) in the event of delay.
Contact: Email me your zipcode and I will supply you with a total including shipping cost and PayPal fee. Shipping generally starts at $35. I ship in insulated boxes, packed correctly and use a heat pack during cold months and cold packs during the summer, but delay shipping if temperatures are extreme for the health of the turtle(s). Animals under 4" are not sold as pets.
