In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Central American....maybe?

We obtained this girl about three and a half years ago from a friend who was getting deployed. Her name is Diamond and she's the sweetest thing ever, and very beautiful. When the light hits her just right she has rainbows along her body. I've been searching for what type of red tail she is, and what I've come up with is Central American. Any other thoughts? I'm also planning on breeding her in three or so more years (once I get out of college). What type of male do you think would be a good pairing?

(in the last picture she is the one that is more spread out)

She looks like a Nicaraguan or CA, however you want to say it. I personally wouldn't breed her. She looks like a great pet, and breeding will often times, like any animal (humans included) change the attitude of the female afterwards.

Chris

I don't know for sure if I'm going to breed her. It was an option since right now she's my only snake that is the right size and weight, and I can get a free mate for her from one of my providers.

without locality info on the parents all we are doing is guessing... so I'll throw my guess in the mix, yes it looks like some sort of central american or CA mix due to the high saddle count.

:D

She's pretty I like her clean sides and the spots between the saddles.

oh and PS - I loved LOST (your avatar)

Thanks! Yeah she does have some beautiful markings. I really like that her sides are almost white before they reach her belly. She also has been known to change colors, ranging from almost white to very dark gray/brown, almost black. I think it would be interesting to see what she produces if paired with a light male. (possibly Brazilian or Hog?)

Why would you breed her to something besides a Central American? Making mutts for the sake of making mutts is just irresponsible. You have to think about what is going to happen to all of those animals. Do you think there is a market for 25 CA x Brazilian or Hog babies? I personally do not.

Sound advice. The market just ain't there right now for those kind of crosses. You ready to feed them all for a few years or more?

Looks CA, but impossible to tell without knowing the background. Because of that alone, I would not breed it.

Breeding an animal just because it is the right weight and size is not a good idea.

That's like breeding a Doberman to a Chihuahua because one has male parts, one has female parts and they both just happen to be there.

If it was a CA, breeding it to a CA is the best option. Mixing in other localities, like Chris said, is going to give you a bunch of undesirable mutts. If you want ligher colored boas, purchase some for quality and genetics, not for cheap because you can or for free because you can.

Just my opinion on it.

Sorry guys, I was getting mixed up about the difference between morph and breed...i guess is the word? I'm still trying to learn, which is why I'm getting info now before I try breeding in 3 or 4 years
