    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have enquired with two breeders of ceylonese as far as availability. One breeder (A) doesn't have any yet this year and the other does. The one breeder (B) with says they can only be picked up and not sent state to state. Breeder A has never heard of this and ships his all the time.

I looked up molurus on the FWS site and it lists the Indian python as the only ESA listed. This matches up with Indian python, CA sales only, ads seen on kingsnake in the past.

Now as far as my state, NY, the Ceylonese is the only legally kept molurus as of post Jan 2005. The Burma and Indian are listed as illegal to own, breed, etc.

Am I missing anything here, or could breeder B be under the impression that the Ceylonese python is classified similarly to the Indian?

I've asked them and waiting their response, have sought info from fellow Fauna folks.

Thanks,
Alan

I own one. I've always thought that they can not be shipped. That's what I was told when I purchased him.

The FWS listed the date that the Indian Python got added as an endangered species as 1976. It might be that the Ceylonese didn't have its own species name at the time and some may view it as follwoing under the Indian?

As of yesterday, there is no Ceylonese listed on the site. Hopefully I'm correct and get some shipped to me when available.

Anyone with personal conenctions to FWS or related positions?

USFWS does not classify pimbura as a valid subspecies. For purposes of the ESA, they consider it to be just a locality variant of the Indian python.
