In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good Guy CGMa (Angie Thostrup)

People often forget these BOI's work two ways. It tells some of us breeders which individuals to shy away selling geckos to when we are considering selling a gecko. Your view from other possible sellers will be tarnished since you wish to not give the whole story, like something to hide. I am sure if you made your own BOI thread on Mama T's, people would be much more harsh than the few individuals who have responded here because they expect you to give the whole story. Instead you picked one little disbit which shows an individual deciding not to sell their animal after all. Nothing wrong with that, I did that a few months ago, had an animal up for sale, I had someone inquire, they realized it was an animal I was super attached too and they said "hey don't sell it if you're going to regret it". This was a mature individual who understood the situation and didn't resort to a BOI post when I said yeah maybe I will keep it.

And yes you can edit your posts, yes you could have responded instead of basically "screw it, I am leaving it", obviously you are upset and will remain upset because you posted the comment. You obvisouly can't delete your posts like you did on facebook when people disagreed with you. Sadly it is here forever now to remind other breeders some individuals can never be made happy.

Then I guess that's how it will be :)
I don't mind. I'll be editing the post later with proper screenshots . I woulnt buy from someone who disappoints me twice, almost purposely . Thanks everyone for the input though. I've just decided not to buy from her, and if that makes me a bad person, so be it!

The gecko in question is being loaned out to another breeder. I am not going to bring their name into this discussion. I am happy to provide it to another member on here if someone would like to verify the loan and then post that they have done so.

Additionally:
1) In my Terms Of Sale, I state that a gecko is NOT reserved until payment has been received. I never received payment of any kind from Katie Kidd, nor did I ever agree to sell the gecko to her.

2) My Terms Of Sale, at the time the conversation with Katie Kidd took place, stated that I would only sell to minors who would provide verifiable parental consent. Katie and I discussed this in our earlier conversation because she is a 17 year old minor. Katie never provided me with proof of parental consent. *NOTE: I have since changed that policy to state that I will not sell to minors

3) The gecko did originally sell before she decided she wanted to purchase it the first time. I can also provide proof of that to another member if they would like to verify it and post accordingly but I will not divulge the information publicly.

You didn't ask a second time. I would have gotten you everything you needed with in minutes. Payment, consent, everything. You may have assumed I couldn't, but I could have. But you failed to ask. I'm not here to cause trouble, I'm giving a review. If you want to get upset because someone is leaving a review, please don't own a business. I was not happy with my business with you, so I will not do any further with you.

You may say I am just upset, and yes, I am upset, but further more disappointed because I had several people suggest you to me, saying you were very nice and kind to your customers. I didn't see that, honestly. When someone ask me to sell them a gecko, I wait atleast an hour or two before I let someone else buy it. I at least give them the chance to reply, or even acknowledge that their purchase is important to me, and their satisfaction is also important.

I choose to no longer do business with you, and if that upsets you then you may spread my name around, saying I'm a bad person/breeder because I don't do business with you.

I also don't want to delete my post, why would I need to? And I actually didn't delete mine on the Facebook forum, a admin did and explained that even though there was no names, it was still creating a fight.

Not sure where Kim came from, but here's the screen shot of the admin messaging me.

I also have had nothing but good experiences with Mama T. She was always very professional and generous with her time. I'm baffled that missing out on a sale (which happens to us ALL) prompted you to come here and try to bash her.

As others have pointed out: she owed you no explaination yet gave one (she is doing a breeder loan), no money changed hands, as far as the information provided here she never even agreed to sell it to you, you never provided proof of parental consent (she shouldn't have to ask again, it's your responsibility to get that to her), and lastly, the posts you've added to this thread have not helped your chances of being sold to in the future by her or the other breeders posting here. There are several big name breeders who have responded here....

Wow this just blew me away.I have known Angie for a few years now.I have so much respect for her as a breeder and person. She has a heart of gold and would not treat anyone badly.I have sold geckos within minutes of posting them for sale.I do not wait an hour for the person to decide if they want to buy the gecko. It is the first person to send me payment is the person who gets the gecko. This should have not even been posted about her because you missed out on a sale.Come on get real. Also she does not have to tell you anything except the gecko is not available anymore. So just because you had a bad experience with her you post a review?

Unfortunately that's the name of the game. You win some and you lose some. I've missed out on geckos that we literally posted within 2 minutes. I know it can be disappointing but what she did is not immoral and is actually pretty common when buying and selling. I've bought from Angie many times and my transactions were always A+.

You didn't ask a second time.
This makes no sense. She shouldn't have to ask a second time. She asked once, that should have been enough.

I'm not here to cause trouble, I'm giving a review. If you want to get upset because someone is leaving a review, please don't own a business.
Reading her reply to this thread, in no way does it sound "upset." It's pretty uncalled for that you would tell someone who has responded publicly in a calm manner to say they shouldn't own a business because of the way they responded.

It's not the seller's responsibility to ask more than once for information. At some point, it's your responsibility as a buyer to follow through.

I don't really think you understand why you are getting the responses you're getting. You were disappointed and I understand that, I've been there, but the bottom line is that until money changes hands, the seller is under no obligations to you. Her only obligations are to uphold her TOS and make the best decisions she can for herself and her animals, which she did. Instead of understanding and respecting that, you have made a poor review. What that has done has shown others that you are not mature enough to handle your end of a transaction. You've done your own reputation harm at this point by criticizing someone for a standard business practice simply because you feel entitled and let down. It happens to all of us at some point or another, we all miss out on something, but how you handle that disappointment tells people far more about you than how you handle a perfect transaction does.

I hope that you learn from this moving forward and that you familiarize yourself with your own responsibilities as a buyer.

I sold Angie a gecko once for a fair price and the next day she gave me a free gecko because she felt that she UNDERPAID ME!! It is really difficult to believe someone is trying to drag her name down for something that breeders have to deal with on a daily basis. Potential buyers come up constantly and ask a million questions then disappear. That's the nature of the business. Unless there's a specific expressed hold you can't be upset if the sale falls through..

Angie is one of the nicest people I've met in the community and her geckos are gorgeous taboot!

I have purchased numerous geckos from Angie over the years and we have also done a trade in the past. Angie has ALWAYS been a pleasure to do business with. :)
