    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So because of the mistakes Chad made im supposed to lose money and a gecko that I paid for? Not saying that I have any geckos that may or may not have been paid for but i dont understand how that is fair. What geckos are you talking about that he owes? Bc looking back at this thread and from what I read last Chad had sent out all of the geckos he owed to the people and the ones he didnt have people got refunds for? Please correct me if im wrong.

And Broderick, if you read this thread -- Jordan had NO involvement in this fiasco, but stepped in to help out fellow hobbyists, and shipped the first round of geckos for Chad. He had nothing to gain, and in fact paid for shipping supplies OUT OF POCKET, just to help the right thing happen.

I'm sure you got a pretty good deal on a lot of animals this large. SO yeah, it would go a long way to building you a reputation, proving you're not Chad, and starting with a clean slate -- especially since you bought the group KNOWING he had a bad rep and were willing to take that risk. A little damage control can go a long way towards future happy customers.

I'm not saying he didn't scam you too -- especially if he sold you "hot" geckos -- but if you raelly want to move past it and make your own name, stepping up to be the bigger man would do you a world of good.
 
I'm pretty convinced its not the same guy. I think something here is a little off, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Stealing a friend's ID seems like a lot of work if one wanted to stay in the community, and I don't see how any intelligent person would lend someone else their ID.

If Vanwyn is who he says he is I think it would be in his best interest to go back and read this thread from beginning to end and see exactly why everyone is so hot under the collar about this.

If you do happen to have the gecko jerseygirl is missing, I would be interested in chipping in some money to get it to her. She got the wrong animal, but then again if you bought this animal from Chad fair and square and didn't know about what happened.. I don't think you should be having to take the brunt of his problems.

If she still has a pic or description she could give it to you or post it here.. you can check if you have it and then let me know how I can help to get her that animal.
 
He did show his ID, and after comparing it to my own it looks real, although I'm far from being an expert on that sort of thing.

Just so you know Broderick, there's a reptile show down in san Diego this Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there Sunday, and Im sure there will be other people there from this and other reptile forums.

If your story is true, I'm sure this is frustrating for you. But you were told before hand. And if you take a look at the rest of the BOI, you'll see why people have become so wary of who they buy from, especially when your story connects with someone who is known to have screwed people over.

Honestly, if I was interested in any of the animals you have for sale I'd come see them for myself, because I believe I live close by. But I definitely wouldn't buy anything if I wasn't able to meet you in person and see that you are who you say you are.
 
I think the one thing that does need an explanation is his ISP address.
I am not a computer person so have no clue how it is possible his and Chad's are the same unless he is using Chad's connection.....
Can that be explained by someone?

Cindy, I think Chad just took drama back in high school and got really good at acting.

I will presume that this IP address is not using dial up, because he is able to respond here fairly quickly, and can post a thread with large, detailed photos. In that case, he is most likely using DSL, and therefore the IP address will remain the same only if it is the same device on the SAME network.

So Broderick, I suggest you stop stealing Chad's wifi...
 
I would definatly like to find out what gecko it is and if I even have it. Should I still have the gecko I would not mind letting her have it. I just want this all to be overwith and to be able to post up my geckos to get some off of my hands...

I am pretty sure it's quite easy to take a picture of a friend's ID, and try to pass it off as your own over the internet.

Not to sound like a broken record or anything, but he never verified the address to prove that "Broderick" was a neighbor to Chad in order to explain the same DSL network.

I'm pretty convinced this is Chad.
 
The IP address is registered to sbcglobal which is now either AT&T's or Yahoo's DSL service. I can think of 3 ways how he would have the same IP as Chad.

1. He is hooked up to Chad's router
2. He is using Chad's wireless
3. They could both be using a wireless hotspot

I dont know much about computers and IP addresses but when Chad lived next to me I know he would use this laptop and would also use my internet. Would that explain the same IP address thing your talking about?

One possible explanation occurred to me, but I'm not going to offer it to "Broderick"- I'm gonna PM you, though...
 
Does anyone have Chad's address? The one for his parents that was posted earlier in this thread is about 1 mile away from where I think Broderick lives.

1. I mean, if you're gonna ship these geckos, your address is gonna be on the box anyway. But it doesn't matter, because although Graystone Ave and Allingham Ave are close, they are not network-sharing-ly close.

I guess you found it too. I thought I had it earlier but couldn't link him directly to the property. I just found something linking Broderick and his sister to the owner of the house on Graystone.

VanWyn, if you're not actually Chad, and you know he didn't have a good reputation here, why didn't you come to this forum to introduce yourself and explain the situation before posting the animals for sale? add to it the fact that you're posting his old pictures, and all the other fishy stuff.... you're expecting people here to buy your animals, the very least you could do is prove you are who you are before people part with their hard earned cash.

I strongly suspect this will be your best way out of this hole Chad left you in with these geckos.

I'll correct you. It was me.

I bought a little orange gecko with red crests, and I was sent a totally different gecko. I contacted Chad multiple times, and he told me that he did still have that one, and he'd send it...but he never would get back to me after that. My paypal dispute closed for the dispute "goods not sent" and could not be reopened for a different reason "wrong goods sent" :(.
So you may have a gecko that I had purchased but never received. But I know thats not your fault, and dont know what you would do about that? You didnt know you were buying geckos that were previously sold to someone else.
