In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Chad Johnson - Chadscresteds

I'm sure he has more friends who's identities he could steal, lol. And if they let him use their computer, and he cahnges his paypal address and shady ways.....the world may never know.

I for one, would like to hear what issues the gecko is having, especially if it could be the seller's fault I think it would pertinent.

He's still got a bunch of geckos... too bad he sabotaged his ability to sell them online.

The poor little gecko Tara finally got has had some issues, too. :/

Oh my! I didn't see this one. (I hate using my phone to post stuff, I miss pages and click on things I don't want to:p)
Laura~ I wouldn't exactly call them "issues"? She had stuck shed all over when I first got her, but that's all better now:) and there is a black speck on her neck that I was unsure whether it was a dalmation spot, scab or tick?? But I really think its a scab since its not getting any bigger? She was probably not housed alone...but I wouldn't really call them "issues" that sounds bad, like she's sick. But she's perfectly lively and seems healthy so far:). Time will tell if its a scab, which I really think it is.

It's a matter of perspective, I suppose. Stuck shed, lost tails, and scabs are common issues for geckos that have been housed together, I guess.

Sorry to bump the thread, just info: chadscresteds/Broderick was trying to sell animals again on Pangea last night under the name ceejay

The ads were removed there as chadscresteds is a banned user and we don't allow people to circumvent bans with secondary accounts, but I just want folks to use caution while shopping.

If you do happen across him and buy from him maybe you will be luckier than some of the folks in this thread and get things right away.

I can provide a screenshot of the deleted ad(s) from Pangea if necessary but one of the animals for sale is the last guy/attached image in this classifieds post. http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251563 - same picture was used in the Pangea ad.

Posting on fauna yet again---

It seems as if Chad Johnson/ Broderick Van Wyn is posting on Fauna yet again. With an all new alias.

This is the most recent ad (including a screen cap below in case said ad is deleted): http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287181

And these are photos used in the ad tagged with the same photobucket as other pictures in this thread "brodyVW" aka Broderick Van Wyn. This Susan Johnson I believe is just another way for Chad to get access on the fauna classifieds. I know for a fact that CHAD JOHNSON is the current owner of Maximus, the top pinner in the photo of the two geckos. "The Situation" who is for sale in the ad, is also present in the iHerp linked below

This is his iHerp showing his current collection (same Company name as the email given in the ad here)

Andrew Schnell can verify that Chad Johnson indeed made a purchase from him that included Maximus and Six. If absolutely needed I should be able to get a screen cap from a PM wherein he says this, it was sent to a buddy of mine just today in fact.

Will this guy never quit?

I certainly would love to hear this from Andrew, so we know that Chad actually *HAS* Maximum and isn't using stolen photos and claiming to own a famous gecko that he actually doesn't! I was under the impression that Maximum was going to be a keeper and not be re-sold, so yeah, it's worrying to see someone with a shady reputation claim to be in possession of that animal!

Thanks for posting this info Meg, I was hot on that pair of cresties but the fact it was a new user with 0 trader rating shut me down.:)

He's been trying to post the same stuff under the name GGWherps on Pangea as well and has had a couple of different accounts. (Didn't really want to post publicly how we knew it was him so we could continue to track him.)

It is a CRYING SHAME that Max and Six are in that guy's "care."

I had no idea that's who Susan Johnson was. :ack2:

Meg- how did you find out that Andrew sold them to Chad?

I purchased him from a guy named broderick locally along withba couple other geckos from him. I bred him to a neon red female which produced me an insane red pinner which I just sexes as male hence why I am selling ace. He has probably the best structure I've seen on a crested and is an awesome gecko.
this is what S. Johnson emailed me back when i inquired on a crestie "Ace" that i know was/is Broderick's that i tried buying off of him but it didn't seem right when i tried at the time.
With Andrew's crestie in that guys care... man, what a shame. Max was going for 900 dollars too. can't chad just become invisible? he's never going to sell anything. he's got a trail 50 miles long already.

I've posted 2x now on Ggwherp's iHerp profile asking to respond to this thread- the first post was deleted and I expect my second one will as well.

I've also messaged Aaron (iHerp owner) just to give him a head's up.

Hey guys - thought I'd hop on and make some clarifications.

Anyone who knows me or has done business with me before (which is at least a third of the contributors to this thread) knows that I deal with some really nice geckos (quality and not quantity) - and that I have a lot of connections with important gecko people worldwide. You'll also know that my customer service record is pretty darn good (if not close to perfect), and that I've been doing international gecko sales/trades for a while now - and was at the Hamm, Germany show this last June. And unless you have connections - you don't often get the opportunity to get pictures of yourself with a $6,000 USD Naultinus gemmeus neonate like the one shown here...

Geckos are my life (and carnivorous plants to an extent) - I work in a gecko adhesion research lab for THE guy who discovered how geckos stick to walls (Dr. Kellar Autumn) - and do a ton of academic stuff relating to geckos in addition to all of the herpetoculture/hobby related stuff I do. Heck - I even did my own Phylogenetic study of the three endemic New Caledonian gecko genera a few months back. I can email you the word doc if you're interested.

Basically, I just want to show everyone that I'm in for the long haul - and most people like me or at least are happy with the business they've done with me. There are people who don't like me - but in all honesty, if I don't get treated with respect by someone - I won't give it back. I almost always try my best to treat anyone I don't know with respect. I refuse to kiss up to people just because they think they're hot stuff. I will admit that a lot of my posts on any forum make me look like a bit of a jerk and a know it all - so therefore I feel like clarifying that my posts aren't ever intended to be taken personally in any way (even if they do sound "snooty" or "overly academic"). But at least I know how to admit I'm wrong about something - and that I definitely don't know all that there is to know about geckos! So as I result of all of this - I have great personal relationships with a lot of people in the community - and not so great relationships with some. Everyone who has met me in person usually likes me though (apparently I don't sound like such a stuck-up jerk in person lol).

Sorry about the long rant - but this thread took me three hours to read - and I feel like I have some important stuff to say - so establishing my credibility was necessary.

Mmmk. Chad doesn't own Max or Six - and I don't appreciate people assuming that he does. I sent him Max for a breeding loan a couple months back - and he's back in my possession now and doing just dandy. I've also sold him a lot of nice geckos that weren't at all cheap (which do include a lot of Max x Six offspring). And just like everyone else I've ever sold high end stuff to - he held up his end of the bargain well and responded in a timely manner, etc. He's bought more than $3,000 worth of geckos from me - and I got all of the money just fine. Just so everyone knows - the only reason Ryan even sold Max to me in the first place was because I'd been by far his best customer over the last few years - and spent over $10,000 with him during that time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I didn't know who he was before I did business with him - but everything ended up going just fine for me. I didn't look him up before selling to him because (as Alinda put it)...

I haven't had an issue I couldn't resolve on my own in 5 years, and most people I have purchased from aren't on the BOI, good or bad... so I quit checking.

Half the threads here get so ridiculous it takes 5 hours to make heads or tails of anything anyway... so it didn't seem worth my time anymore. I didn't even read the entirety of this thread... just the first and final 3 pages or so...

Oops, my bad... guess I will check before I send money now...

Anyway - I'm not saying that any of the stuff he pulled on a lot of my friends was in any way ok - because frankly I don't think it was - I'm only saying that my interactions with Chad have all been smooth ones so far. Also I'd like to add that this is probably the longest BOI thread I've ever read or seen - pretty impressive!

Now on to one part of the thread I just couldn't help but commenting on... (sorry Chad :p )

But I do have many friends who are first generation Americans who've changed the spelling of their names just b/c they're so different and difficult for Americans. Some do and some don't go through all the hoops it takes to change it "legally," though.

As someone who speaks pretty darn good Spanish and German - who has Dutch friends both in Holland and the US - and who has been to the Netherlands personally - the whole "Dutch name being too hard to pronounce" thing really cracks me up :D
