    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

And, like with every other known scammer......ONE positive transaction does not erase the multitude of bad ones.

So, let me get this straight.......you participated in this thread. You are familiar with Chad and his behavior. Yet, despite communicating with and accepting payments from Chad, you "did not realize" it was the same person? How does that happen? Did he use another fake name or e-mail to pay you off with with?

Or maybe you're just making excuses for knowingly doing business with a scammer.
 
Wow, we really follow the "don't kill the messenger" rules around here don't we.

He was clearly giving input about a transaction selling to Chad. Input and information is, after all, what we are really looking for here on the board of INQUIRY forum.

One can only hope he's genuinely changed. I doubt it, but we can hope. But, in all fairness, it's much easier to be the "good guy" as a buyer. Until he starts having good transactions as a seller, in my opinion, he's still as suspect as he ever was.

I think Andrew did a great thing by coming on here and admitting that he sold to Chad. Most people would hide in the shadows and be embarrassed about it if they didn't realize it, but he came out and told the truth. How can you be chastising him for that? :shrug01: Also, the last post Andrew made in this thread was last year sometime...what, 10 months ago or longer? With the business the Gilpins do, do you really think they remember absolutely every single person in the hobby, especially those with a really common sounding name?

One right doesn't erase the many wrongs, but the transaction went well and that's what was reported.
 
He's made a new account on Pangea under the name jayrock23 - he's not allowed to post ads there until he rebuilds his rep, but he may still be buying. I don't think he's exactly trying to hide since his signup e-mail has his full name in it, but I do want my gecko peeps to know he's back.

I am not telling people what they should do - just informing. I do agree that selling to someone is a lot different than buying from them though, when the problem this guy had earlier was not shipping animals when he had peoples' money for shipping already. If he gets it turned around, good for him; better for the hobby in general.
 
Hey guys. I friended him on FB not knowing who he was. Someone told me and I removed him. His business is going by "Geckos Gone Wild". He offered me a gecko and I am so glad I turned it down.
 
I just sold a crested gecko to jayrock23 aka cresteddude23 ...He claimed that when he got the gecko its was unhealthy and he wanted to return it.The gecko is and was completely healthy.Thank god I found this BOI on him 56 pages....And if your seeing this CHAD...Sale is final!!!!Buyer and seller beware of this guy...He clearly still up to bad tricks again!!!

Where did he make a purchase from? At a show, on a forum, on facebook? Just curious. What did he say was wrong with the gecko and when did the sale take place?

I agree, I'd be interested in more information regarding this transaction as well.
I as a seller would certainly require photos of the 'unhealthy' animal ( sh*t happens during shipping sometimes) after receiving the complaint before making any decisions.... If the buyer isn't willing to supply the photos within a couple hours of getting the animal then tough luck to them ( they probably are trying to take advantage of the seller). If the animal was delivered on time and came in in poor condition something may need to be worked out that makes both the buyer and seller happy.

It happened 1 day ago ..And it was Done through the pangea forums site Jaybee..I sent a message to the Moderators through the contact us link telling you what happened.I didn't know this guy had a huge BOI thread on him...!!!He said the gecko was healthy and wanted his money back!The gecko was completely fine....In muy opion think he was trying to scam me into something?And now that I've read all these BOI's...!!!He also was using the 2 account names to contact me that made me feel like he was trying to jew me down on the price ? Anyways he got a healthy gecko and I'm not refunding the money...Matt

Can you post his e-mail/PM where he was complaining about the issue?

I agree, could you share more info and post some screenshots of all this, if possible?

If Chad's got some new tricks up his sleeve, it would be nice to call him out on these as well.



From my own perspective, Chad used up his last chance with the whole Broderick alias fiasco. I'm all for giving people new chances. But not a person who's going to make up an alias, go as far as he did with it right here on the BOI, and then just pull the SAME scam all over again. That's not a person looking for a chance to do the RIGHT thing...

Buyers Beware.

I did receive a message from Matt G. on the other forum. This is not the whole message, but the only part necessary for me to share.

The first one was jayrock23 the second that I sold it to was cresteddude23.I found out it was him, because he left his email on the jayrock23 inquiry. And it was the same as the payment paypal one.

Jaybee just left you a message on pangea.And to everyon on here on the BOI she is correct chad did use those 2 names to contact me on pangea forums for the sale.He spent over a hour last night while I was at work harassing me for a refund.I warned him if he kept harassing me I would post everything!He has left me alone for now?I think after spending over 2 hours reading 46 pages on boi on him,that he is very well know for his tricks with all you guys on here!I feel lucky I did catch what he was doing early.I was about to refund his money and get the gecko back,but I know the gecko was healthy and its pic and post are still up on the trade boards on pangea to prove it was!And reading everthing on here proved he is a liar and a scammer!He did use the poor me excuse and the death in the family trick also!That he had used serveral times before!He told me he really wanted a female and wanted me to loupe it to see, after he purchased and before I shipped it.I don't have my loupe anymore and told him and it was sold unsexed.So I think right when he got it ,it probally looked like a male when he louped it? So he used this excuse to try to get his money back?Kind of ironic I think after reading on the boi what he had done to everyone over and over again?Hopefully Chad won't try to do this trick again on the sellers of all the reptile forums ?And if he does I will have stuff to help exploit him if needed?I will leave it at this for now everyone,Only because I feel fortunate that I didn't get took on this sale.I think Jaybee posting the names I gave to her will put a warning out?..Thanks everyone...Matt
 
Chad has e-mailed me as well, with photos of the gecko he received. I've tried to encourage him to post his half of the transaction here but that is all I can do.

As an addendum - he e-mailed me from [email protected] - which was attached to his chadscresteds account on Pangea. His side accounts are all now banned there, so he only has chadscresteds. His excuse was that he keeps forgetting his passwords (he apparently did not even remember he had an account on Fauna). Whether he was being genuine or not, I notified him of the "forgot password?" function that most forums have so there is no excuse for him to use any other account.
