In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am going to try to link the thread from facebook that has been going on for the past few days about my experience with Chameleon Galore out of Calgary, and the owner Monika McDermott. It should explain itself fairly well, and if anyone needs anymore clarity or have questions please just ask.

I don't take posting things like this lightly....however, I believe the post will explain itself.

I have been helping Alice get this transaction fully refunded, Monika is a liar and breaks her own Terms of Service. She also overcharges on Shipping and makes multiple accusations to avoid showing proof. None of her accusations were backed up by anything proof.

The way she treats her customers is disrespectful and unprofessional, I was there for the start of the Facebook BOI post. I saw it all and made multiple comments to try and expose her for the liar she is.

Since posts and conversations on FB can easily be deleted, it would be best to save and post those screen shots here at the BOI. Your links are useless if the conversation is deleted.

She is doing so now, I advised her to take it Fauna. On the facebook BOI we were eventually all blocked by her, so we couldn't solve the problem so it's been brought here.

So nice to see beautiful animals arrive safely at their destination. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience. I received a DOA from Chameleons Galore out of Calgary. The owner Monika McDermott lives in BC. This female veiled was supposed to be Valentines Gift for my hubby.
As I converse with other breeders about safe shipping during this time of year, virtually all say that a Chameleon weighing in at 5g and just over 2" from snout to vent is WAY too small to ship. Yes, this lady is offering me 40-50$ towards the purchase of another Chameleon. I have turned that down & am asking for a full refund. I realize breeders have policy's & warranties/replacements etcetera. However!!! This Cham was not even in shipping mode for 24 hours! The weather was beautiful both Tuesday eve & Wednesday all day. Trying to work all this out has been trying to say the least.
As a new person coming into this business, I feel very strongly that this company is not taking responsibility for shipping out a very fragile animal at such a young age. I also offered to pick this animal up on the 9th, which she flatly refused because the shipping was already booked. I have since spoken to the shipper & he said that shipping can be cancelled at anytime. There would have been a 15$ admin fee that I would have happily covered.
Buyer beware...
I did document with pictures & dates & called both parties immediately.
I do not recommend this company whatsoever. In the end it has not been about the money. It has been about that lost life so unnecessarily, and about a breeder that seems more interested in the $$'s then the fact that I opened that box up to a dead Chameleon, that should have NOT been shipped at this time.

Alice Townsend I want to add that Sam at Reptile Express was really great about all of this. Remorseful, polite, professional, & gave me a credit for my next shipping experience, (which I have to add makes me really nervous!!).

Alice Townsend I have not had the experience of shipping anything out, yet!! (Eggs coming soon). & many breeders won't ship in the winter. I sure won't be in the future!!

Gwendolyn Ward He arrived DOA and all she offers is a small credit for another? Does she not offer a live guarantee?

February 20 at 9:26pm · Like

Alice Townsend Exactly!! Warranty on DOA 'as long as it is mentioned to us upon arrival.' I sent pictures & called as soon as I discovered. There is no warranty for winter shipping. That is understood. However. Did this animal have a chance being so small??

I think I am going to have to do this a bit differently. It is not picking up some of the pics I have posted. Let me figure this out and I will get some pics and coversations posted in just a bit. My applogies, I am a bit new here at the fauna.

Would it work here if I posted the pics to a word document and then posted?

Just because it's a Canadian dealer, there's no requirement for it to be in that section of the site. A site search for the name will bring up this thread just the same.
It's not really beneficial to have a thread in each section as you then end up with two concurrent discussions of the same transaction and information will be spread over both threads making it difficult to follow.
