    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have recieved a few emails over the last hours from users not getting in, and tried to get myself but could not.

Any idea how long this will be a problem?
 
Any idea how long it has been down? I am going to try changing the server port it runs under and see if that stops these intermittent failures. It doesn't appear that changing the java module has fixed the problem, and the error log indicates a conflict with the standard port being used.

I have asked my tech guy to look into a few idle ports that I could use without worrying about another conflict somewhere else.

I know it was down from around 8:30pm til at least 10pm.

I did have some problems getting in yesterday too, but I'm unsure of the times.

down again

went down, came back up, and went down again 1113 pm Sunday...
 
I tried changing the port address for the chat server, but THAT didn't work. I think I need to drag the chat software developer into this one. This is getting on my nerves......
 
1149 am Monday and it is working...just popped in to see...as always thanks for the time on this, Rich
 
According to the error log, it started back up 5 minutes later. I don't know if that was something automatic or if my tech guy is just paying closer attention to it. We are both trying to contact the developer now.

Alan, I think if you quit breaking the chat we would all have alot more fun.
