Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Yeah some of us do use it its not a highway by anymeans but does get some use ... but if you want to axe it lol its yours to axe
 
No, I'm thinking more on the line of dropping the exclusive use of HerpChat.com to users of FaunaClassifieds. Doesn't appear to be that much of a perk to registered members, so I will just open it up to public access through the domain name portal.

I would just like to think my work was being used, so I guess I don't need to be concerned with who exactly uses it. I've already paid for the software, so it doesn't cost me anything more to just throw the doors open.
 
i haven't been online at all the last few monthes, with moving and all. but i have always enjoyed the chat rooms here and will hopefully continue to use them.

Well, ok, I admit it doesn't look good. Actually, I thought I'd gotten the ball rolling but it appears as though it's not kept up it's momentum if the last week has anything to say about it.

The scheduled chats were put on hold because the amount of participants did not really warrant the work put into organizing them. I couldn't guarantee a good turn-out and some guests would not commit to a chat if there was a chance less than 5 people would be present.

I, myself, have been staying busy for the past little while. Real life kind of just crept up on me.

If no one minds I'll give it until the end of the holidays before getting back into chatmeistering again.

In the meanwhile, I urge everyone to use the chat room! If you go in and find yourself alone, wait a few minutes and someone else should be along shortly. If you just keep popping in and out you'll miss everyone else doing the same thing. It only takes one or two people in there for others to stick around and then, all of a sudden, you've got a conversation going on!

If you don't feel like sitting there and staring at an empty room go to your settings and checkmark the sound for when people enter or leave the room. While you surf around in another window you'll hear when someone comes into the room.

I'll work on coming in, myself, and keeping folks around with my sparkling personality. Come in and say hi!

btw, Alan, the post I am at is EMT and FireFighter training. :)

Webslave gave us the chatrooms to play with some time ago and it seemed to be improving, visitor-wise, but has calmed down significantly.

But if you feel like chatting, feel free to go into the chatroom and sit there for a few minutes and I'm sure someone will come along for you to chat with. If you stay long enough, you'll have a roomfull in no time at all. :)

To get to the chat rooms, click on "CHAT" in the menu on top of the Fauna Classifieds pages (in the "Inside FaunaClassifieds" menu)

There's some weird wacko guy, though, that you have to watch out for. He sits there alone most of the time and then starts talking mumbo-jumbo whenever people come in. I think his name is "real venom" or "real venim" or something like that.

Just kidding Al! :D
 
I was wondering if the chat was goona pick up.And boy it did lastnight..lol..

There was a room full lastnight just about all the regulars showed up.And we had a blast.I was just about to give up on the chat I like going in there and chatting with everyone breaks up the same ole same ole routin.It does seem that most folks are going into the room alot later at night now than we used to.But ole well as long as someone is there to chat with it is a nice place to go and relax!!!

As long as you guys use it, it will stay up.

Heck I bend over backwards to try to make this site what you all want. But nothing is worse than spending a lot of time, effort and money on something and not see if being used. Sorta puts a damper on my enthusiasm to do anything else new around here.

Well, I guess my current Chat-Meister has been busy with things, so I will have to let him off the hook.

I need someone willing to help out and get the ball rolling again on the chat board. Schedule chats with people, and generally be an anchor so people will have a reason to go there. I don't know why it dropped off, but unless it picks up, I will just disconnect it from FaunaClassifieds and hook it to another one of my websites to see if it gets better usage there.

Any takers?
 
I may have something in the works as we speak, I will know within a week if it will fly.
