In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I thought of buying a chicken plucker and after seeing the price decided I did not want one that bad.

So we built one

I will never hand pluck a chicken... Never.

Graphic pics below. 13 chickens in about an hour and 20 minutes including set up and clean up... Not bad :D

Done. Averaged 2 1/2 - 3 lbs... not too bad. Should taste might good on the spit next weekend.

Looks like fun! Did a great job too. Got a link to the plans you used, or did you wing it? :D

Wung it.

But ask away if you have any questions... I will help if I can.

About the cats..... If that darn barn cat kills one more of my rabbits... I will let you know how well it works on cats.

Very Nice! I used the Whizbang Chicken Plucker plans to build mine. I've been using it for a couple years now and I love it! Was this your first time doing chickens? Someone teach you or you teach yourself? I learned with a basic butchering book~ my neighbors laugh at me that I have a book for everything. I learned to butcher chickens with a book in one hand and a rooster in the other~ we learned together! LOL!

Those are might nice clean looking birds~ good and fat for dual purpose birds too! Hope they do well on the spit for you!

I just have to chime in and say....That thing looks Brutal! That is BAD***!
I am loving it, I will be showing a few people that I know could use one!
Thanks for the post :)

Oh and for the record, it is hilarious someone asked about cats!:rofl:

Yes it was the first time doing chickens.

It was a kinda learn as you go thing and seemed to go pretty well. I can not wait to butcher some of my fatties. I have a couple buff orphingtons that I would love to see what that look like on a spit.
