    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We are moving and will be in the car for a couple of weeks.

I am looking for suggestions on how best to travel my crested geckos.

how big are they? how many do you have? will temps be ok? 70-80?

We have 8 adults and one baby. The temps should be ok but there might be short periods when we first get in the car where it will be 95 (guess) for a minute or two.

We thought about shipping them to someone in the area instead of traveling with them.

We would also have to buy containers, their cages are too big and not sturdy enough (screen type).

If you can ship them that probably would be better. I'm sure they can stand a bit of heat for a few minutes while the car cools off but the amount of stress on them from two weeks in a car will not be good and they may not feed the whole way and for a bit after.

I would say ship them to someone if you can as well. Two weeks is a long time, and you'd have to make sure you were able to have enough food for them, and the amount of space they would take up in your car would probably be pretty large, depending on how many of the 8 are males. Also, when you have to stop for food or anything like that, you would have to take them in with you, leaving them in the car would be deadly. Unless you plan on eating drive-thru for two weeks.

Good luck with the move, it's always more difficult with pets, but they are definitely worth a little extra money or hassle!:)

Probably how I would do it is to leave them with trustworthy friends and have them shipped when you are settled.
