In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Chris DeLay Stellar Constrictors sick lemon pastel

i am sorry for what has happened to you and i feel for the little guy as well. i have heard of both chris delay and skip nelson i know that lawyer said earlier that most likely no one would take a care on a $2500 case but IF (nog if) the same has some osrt of comuacable diease that has compromised the rest or some of the rest of your collection i would be willing to bet thats over $2500 plus all the vet bills.... maybe you can try and get a case or judgement.. you may not get your money but you sure can put a lien (or however you spell it) against him...... if there is anything we can do just call us or email us... we are located in texas

The snake is now 45g with food in its stomach. Will get final Baytril injection tonight and finish 2nd course of oral Flagyl on Friday. It is still clumsy and unsteady with some head tremors. Its breathing may be a little labored, I don't know, maybe I'm just looking too close. I called both Chris DeLay and Skip Nelson Saturday and left messages, still no response since 7/27 2nd refusal to accept return for refund.

I hope it continues to improve... have the head tremours lessened any at all, or gotten a little better at all? Or are they continuing as they were in the vids you posted earlier in the thread?

I sincerely hope I never have a run in with the breeder. He will get the tongue lashing of a lifetime out of me if I ever do.

Good luck with that baby... I hope she improves...

To the Gentleman that inquired if Mr. DeLay was informed of this thread. In answer, yes he was.

When I asked him why he wouldn't refund Mr. Fisher's money, he said that Mr. Fisher wanted a full refund 'before' he would consider shipping the snake back. I have not been in this industry long, however to my knowledge that is not standard business practice. When one buys a snake, one sends the money in advance before they recieve there snake. Normally trades are done the same way, and refunds are send the snake, then recieve your refund.

I am in full desicion you rightfully deserve a refund. My best advice (which isn't that great.) Get the snake in full health, and send it back, see if perhaps then you can work out refund arrangements. After all no sense in stressing the poor little guy out further, he sounds on the mend. If nothing else, or you decided to keep the snake. I'm sure you are entired to a partial refund, after all you DID purchase a female and recieved a male.

I hope everything goes well for you, and best of luck.

It is when one party or the other of the deal has lost faith in the other side and no longer considers their word trustworthy... would you ship a $2500 snake back to a breeder without some form of refund prior (as you had paid in advance anyway), when that breeder is someone that you cannot trust to deliver the refund after recieving the snake ?

I don't know about anyone else around here... but I sure wouldn't. I'd insist on at least half the refund in advance, then ship the snake back...

Though I still say that baby should NOT go back to that place again... I'd happily scrape together Mr. Fisher's $2500 myself if neccessary... I feel that strongly about it. That place put this baby in the condition it is in now... to send it back is asking that it go through this all over again ...

IMO of course... based on what I've read on the forums here...

Both Violette and Samantha make good points.

It is standard practice the return of the goods in order to get a full refund. It’s the way it is handled in every business transaction that I’m aware of, even outside of the reptile world.

In this case though I wouldn’t feel at ease sending the ball python back either. What I would do is find a trustee, a third party with which both feel at ease and trust, and is willing to do them this favor. Chris sends this person a postal money order for the total addressed to Paul (with all his info in that order, thus he is the only one able to cash it) plus an addressed, stamped envelope to later forward that order to Paul. The trust holds to the money order until he receives the OK from Chris that the snake in fact arrived. The trustee then sends the money order to Paul.

Thanks.

I'm sure many people would be glad to help Paul out by being the third party. The problem is, I don't buy it for a second. Whenever you spoke to Chris I'm sure he told you whatever he needed to in order to have the subject dropped. He hasn't made one post here that he would refund Paul's money or attempt to rectify the situation in any way. He hasn't even tried to defend his actions. Last I heard he won't respond to Paul's emails or phone calls. To me, that doesn't sound like someone looking to 'make things right'. I'm sure Paul would have preferred a refund as opposed to posting all this on the BOI and being stuck with the sick male snake. Throughout their emails that were posted here Chris never once offered a refund.

I wouldn't trust the guy either.

Although maybe he did not express it clearly enough, when he states what is bolded in the quote what at least I understand is that if he receives the snake he will refund the money. Please bear with me I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If the alternative is offered to fully guarantee him his snake back (after he sends the MO to a third party) and he still refuses well...that's another story.

Best regards.

This is all Bull[**censored**].

THE MONEY SHOULD BE REFUNDED NOW!

Screw the so called rules. Chris broke them by sending the sick snake to begin with.

I couldn't agree more Steve. First to get screwed for 2500.00, and to top it off Chris won't refund first, why not? Maybe he doesn't want to get screwed either. It's even understandable, there's no honor among theives eh, Chris?

My sentiments exactly, Steve! I almost posted something similar earlier today, but restrained myself. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for Chris to call the shots anymore! The fact that he's offered no explanation or apology just convinces me that he is trying to take Paul's money and run. It's sick.

Guys,

I'm so digsusted with this whole situation as you probably all are. But the fact still remains, and is that when you return a merchandise you receive a refund. Whether we like it or not it's the way business in conducted. You go to a store, go to customer service, return a deffective item, and you get your money back. Shouldn't our goal be for Paul to have his money back?

Kindly.

Granted in most situations you would return the item first and then get the refund. However, in this case, I think there needs to be an exception. Chris has already proven he is not trustworthy by sending out an animal in that condition and then not taking responsibility for it.
I for one, do not believe he would refund the money if the snake was sent back to him.
It looks to me like there will never be a favorable outcome from this deal.
As it stands right now, it looks like Paul is stuck with an unhealthy snake that, if it lives, would most likely never be a viable breeder (who knows what may be wrong with it that could possibly be passed on to it's offspring), and Chris is someone who no one should ever purchase anything from in the future.

I agree that there are always rules to follow regarding most transactions. But in this case the only person willing to 'fix' the problem (ie help the snake), is Paul. It is in better health because of Paul's responsible actions. This is a living animal, not a broken piece of merchandise. Chris doesn't deserve any professional courtesy as he has shown absolutely none. So if you want "fair" I believe giving a full refund before returning the animal is FAIR!
Paul could have just as easily let the animal's health diminish more and sent it back to die, but to Paul's credit he actually cares.
I will not defend Chris Delay's "right" to fair exchange procedures.

And I agree with what both of you have just said.

As you very well say Steve, he is not trustworthy. After all he sent a male in place of a female and to add injury to insult he is in rough shape. Maybe this is why he thinks that if he sends the money first he will never see the snake back. He seems to be judging Paul by the caliber of his own actions. Chris should understand that what he did is wrong, if he persists in this attitude he will be "$2,500 poorer".

Regards.

refund

A. Daniel in most cases you'd be correct.. but not in this one. Besides shouldn't $1500.00 be refunded without question due to the sex screw up? I hope this has a happy ending but it doesn't seem to be heading that way. Ron Radloff

The snake is now running 45-50g depending on last meal and defecation. We have completed course of Baytril and 2 courses of Flagyl. It is currently going into shed. It still has some head tremors, but not nearly as dramatic as in the videos. I think at that time the condition was exagerated due to the extreme weakness of the snake. I would guess meningitis, encephalitis, and ameabic protozoans could now be ruled out as root cause of the problem. Its ability to shed without issue will be an indicator of neurological condition. After it sheds will be a prime opportunity to see if it will feed on its own. Interesting that Chris DeLay will talk to somebody else about conditions surrounding refund but refuses to reply to my e-mails and phone calls. I had already decided that 3rd party involvement would be the only way to safely return the snake if Paypal/Mastercard does decide in my favor. I have absolutely zero trust in Chris DeLay. He's already demonstrated what he will do for $2,500.00. I do not trust him to receive it alive. If he shows somebody at the airport a dead snake, he could keep his (my) money. It would have to be shipped to somebody in his area who whould sign for it's live delivery, verified to photo ID Mr. DeLay sent me prior to sending the snake, then signed over to Chris DeLay. His last communication to me was 7/27, denying responsibility for the health of the snake and refusing to consider refund. If he is open to resolving this and refund prior to delivery is his only concern, he has had ample opportunity to advise me of his concern, and work out compromises such as 3rd party involvement. It is my opinion he's been biding his time, hoping the snake will die. The longer it is in my posession the easier it will be for him to blame the death of the animal on me. Just my opinion. Sorry Chris...The snake seems to be getting stronger. Just went and took this picture.

Picture?

I seem to have problems posting pictures sometimes.
