    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had said I hoped that this would not become some gigantic thread but I have to admit that this is pretty entertaining! I have received emails and phone calls from friends and they're all getting a kick out of it too. To think that the original post I made about this guy probably had less than 5 replies and under 150 views...but now....man that has to sting! After almost 2 years no less! I don't think many considered what I had to say about Chris at first...and I don't even think what I said was that harsh. I was just annoyed. I see a lot of people are viewing this thread now...and that's what you get for being a knucklehead Chris!!!! Now please do us all a favor and stop writing fiction on here and quit trolling. This thread has been fun to watch unfold, I can't resist my thought.

I'm thinking we have Chris Kobesko, Jr. posting here while his dad's info came up on the search. CKobesko was an 87 high school grad which would give him plenty of time to marry and have a young teen when the original incident took place.

Jr. has triggered an avalanche of events that I don't think he saw coming and wishes like hell that he could packpeddle but is stuck in his own poo. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes when dad finds out!

When the claim was made that Tom threatened to send him an e-mail virus, a 12 year kid is what went through my mind.
 
e-mail viruses, hijacked accounts, all the things he's been talking about are common in the myspace generation - so those are the things he is talking about.

I definitely think it's a kid.

After looking through my outlook late last night I noticed a printed thread with my name. I immediately confronted my son who I found ot has used my old password and username not only on this site but several others as well. What can I say he will be punished. I also want to say its been over 2 years since I ve been on this site and I do miss all of your knowledge and professionalism. I am a little upset that someone posted my personal information on the web and if it can be taken down i would appreciate it if it cant it cant. Sorry guys.

I would not be surprised if this was someone's kid.

The above doesn't appear to be the writing of a thirty-something with a Master's Degree.

As far as "personal information" goes - Fauna isn't your problem. You (or should I say your father's?) employer published all of the information contained in this thread sans IP and email addresses which have no expectation of privacy.

While I agree that it is possible that it was his kid, the account was new, not two years old as he would have one think. The person who created the account also made the posts. Then the "father" posts on the same account. I doubt it.

It sounds more like an adult trying to throw his weight around.

My sense is that he realized he made a complete and utter ass of himself, realized that his employer(s) would read it, and decided to duck behind a child. That is completely in character for the entity that made all of the posts under that account. No amount of backpedalling is likely to change my opinion on that.

I only said it wouldn't suprise me. I still favor the "its him - he did it, not his cousin, son, brother, or mother" theory.

Should be interesting to see what if any fallout there has been.

How ironic that in this whole thread, the only person who seemed to side with this twit was Chris Johnson of TSE infamy. Maybe they can share the same lawyer. :ack2:
 
Just to play devils advocate I have a quick question. It is very obvious that this kid, twit whatever made a complete fool of himself and over stepped several boundaries. It is his freedom to lack judgement and common sense. Given that why is it necessary when someone does these things to contact their work of employment, friends, family ect...? Other than being a jerk what harm has he really done to anyone other than himself? He made a threat (veiled as it tried to be) then turn him in to the proper authorities. I just find it petty to email his work and everyone else he may know. I have at times said things I wish I hadn't. I just don't think our every indescretion needs to be tattled to everyone. Now I believe there are some instances when this would be necessary but this is far from one of them. He hung himself (as far as credibility goes in the reptile industry) why try to bury him in every aspect of his life? If he is truely this bad all the time don't you think they already know that where he works? That said he isn't someone I would want to deal with but I think some are taking this way overboard and should be thankful there aren't others reporting every indiscretion they have made.

I might have agreed with you right up until post #52.

The inference was that he was doing something to re-direct traffic from legitimate sites to other, less savory sites. At the very least such behavior is erratic and at worst it is potentially criminal. In this case it would appear that the individual in question was just bluffing as they clearly do not have the requisite skills to execute such a hijack.

That said if the Chris Kobesko that is posting here is the same Chris Kobesko that works in the mental health field as a counselor, there are serious questions about his behavior as it relates to his professional competence. The worst that would happen if he isn't the same person is that someone looks at it and says "that's not our Chris Kobesko".
 
I tend to agree with Mark on this one. Nothing Chris has done warrants notification to his employer. What do people really think that accomplished? Do you honestly believe he is going to have to explain himself to his employer because he made comments about hacking sites on some reptile forum? Do you really think his employer, regardless of the field he is in, cares about what was written here?

Having worked in the mental health field and now working in the criminal justice field (people are more interesting), I can say with some certainty that his employer will get nothing more than a chuckle from this, if they even give it that much attention.

Although I understand threats were made or implied, the general public, of which his employer is a part of, will most likely view them as silly comments made to elicit a response on some silly reptile forum. I think we tend to forget that our hobby is only comprised of a small percentage of the population; therefore, our concerns and what we tend to view as pertinent are often considered meaningless and “silly” to the general public. If you have any doubt, walk into work tomorrow and discuss this entire matter with your employer. If their response is anything but similar to “why are you wasting my time with this”, I will be very surprised.

If such as you state is indeed your stance, why bother stating it at all? It will have no effect on anyone outside this small world we inhabit, will affect nothing of any signifigance.

To the left, it just MAY make a difference to someone to know that an individual for whom they are responsible for is doing things such as this.

Of course, if no one ever says anything, then the scumbags of the world have nothing to fear from those they slime.

On a different note, Chris's attempt to back peddle by implying he is Chris's son after his employment information was disclosed (if that is indeed what happened) suggests he is concerned about what his employer might think.
