In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Let me add to my statement, above.

No attaboys are due the seller for finally shipping, he should have done that a LONG time ago.

But when Wednesday rolls around, and we hear from the buyer, if the seller went ahead and shipped a second critter (a nice one) to make up for all the trouble and all, it might end up with a slightly better feeling as the thread ends.

:iagree: :iagree:

While on the face of things extra animals as thank you's or compensation for some issue are nice, it should be noted that not everybody is happy about seeing an unexpected critter in their box. That type of gesture shouldn't be a surprise; IMO, it should discussed between buyer and seller beforehand.

WOW! (what?!) WOW! And Ed wonders why I jumped on Casey with both feet so hard so quick for non-responsiveness.

Michael, this off topic discussion belongs on the Katherine McBroom thread that you started not here. I would be happy to point out the lies you posted against her if you want to bring that thread up.

Now back on topic. I hope Christoper does what he posted that he will do and send Kai what he paid for 4 months ago.

Kai please let us know when you receive that crestie.:)

You're right... I should keep my comments about you to the multiple bad guy threads you already have Ed. The BOI speaks for itself where you are concerned.

Back on topic... It would be nice to see a tracking number for the animal when it ships no doubt. Pessimistically optimistic at this point...

Kai,

If in the unfortunate event you do NOT get your animal from the seller, you can still get money back from PayPal past their 45 day guarantee if you paid with a credit card or your bank account.

Simply contact your CC company or bank with your records and the fact that you have not received your purchase, and you can have the charge reversed. The seller will then work with PayPal to dispute the chargeback with your CC/bank, but if you have all the records necessary to show you never received your purchase, your CC company/bank will decline the seller's dispute (and the seller will be stuck with a chargeback fee - it's another $45 on top of the purchase price, from what I remember).

Good luck.

How about every body stops replying with the smarta** comments and just wait and see. Ive done some things wrong and im trying to make them right. I understand i should have taken care of it be fore it got this far. Atleast im willing to admit i screwed up, not many people would do that. Lets just wait til Wednesday and see what happens.

Thank you, again, to everyone, and you as well Christopher. I will be home to receive her, I emailed you the address to send her to.

The only thing that I am worried about is going through USPS when the low on Tuesday night is now 35 degrees by me. At the same time, I apologize, but I am kind of hesitant to send more money to you, especially with the dispute open on PayPal. If you can offer some sort of guarantee that she will get here safely, than I'd be more than happy to accept her.

This is why before I even consider selling or buying things online, I make sure that everyone involved has a TOS .. or something similar.

Just either send the gecko to the buyer, or send him the monies.

Then, everything will be a-okay and everyone will have smiley faces.

I don't want to add more drama to this since the two party's seem to have come to a conclusion, but why are we still dealing with usps at this point??

This is ridiculous seeing how the weather was such a big deal from the start...**shaking my head**

Just alittle recent experience I'd like to share. Someone recently sent to me using USPS. I would never have agreed to USPS, however they lied and told me I was paying for ups ... Well, it took 3 days for my animals to get from Ohio to Pennsylvania. 3 days!!! The shipper also used no heat packs so they were in a box for 36 hours w no heat, with lows at night in the 40s. Anyways, the animals still are doing poorly and it's been 3 weeks. They have lost tons of weight and have been on antibiotics twice.
People, please don't use USPS. Not only is shipping reptiles postal not allowed, it really has no guarantees of anything. I sent a money order express mail on the 14th, with expected delivery by the 17th, and the money order still hasn't gotten there. It's dangerous and very unfair to your animals. I understand that money is an issue w the economy - I sometimes use shipnex since they use ups anymore, but really, syr or RE is the safest way to go. And if money is that big an issue and if your going to use something not certified to ship reptiles, atleast use shipnex so your guaranteed next day delivery. I still believe that syr or re is the best safest way to go for most reptiles.

Natalie you are mistaken.

Shipping reptiles and amphibians is allowed, frogs, lizards and a few others. shipping snakes is against the postal regulations but is not illegal.

They will guarantee live arrival if you can show it was past the deadline they gave you, they will refund as long as you had insurance on the package.

I use Fedex with great results, some people only use usps and that is very risky.

Even when you are past that 45 day guarentee with Paypal, if you CALL and talk to a person, they will often resolve your dispute. Just "open a dispute" and when they decline it(it will happen automatically if it's past 45 days), then call and explain that there were shipping delays due to weather, but then the seller sent you NOTHING and Paypal will contact the seller to ask for proof they shipped. With no proof of shipping, Paypal will normally refund your money EVEN IF IT'S PAST THE 45 DAYS.

I just did this with a person who took my money for an action figure that wasn't released yet(preorder) and never sent me anything. Paypal took about 10 days, I called them twice(only once was needed) and received a full refund. This was at least 90 days past the "deadline" too.

In this case, I hope your gecko arrives healthy and on time.

I was mistaken then. I was told awhile ago that shipping USPS is not a legal means to ship reptiles. Still, without a definate next day delivery, I don't see how it is still legal. I don't believe knowingly shipping any reptile or animal that could leave them in a box for more than 24hours is humane. I'm sure other ppl feel different, but that is MHO.
And yes, the postal service may guarantee against death if delivery delays exist. However, alot of reptiles aren't going to show the effects of the prolonged shipping w no lights food or heating for a period of time afterwards.
