Hi, I purchased 2 calico chucks,both babies from deer fern farms.
Doug did his best to sex them as male/female pair.
Brought them home and 2 days into the male was bobbing at the female and sometimes chasing her away.
She still ate(alot) and got to bask most of the time,unless he was onery.
Sometimes she would be laying on top of him others he wanted her gone.
So I seperated them,and now she is not eating as much and spends the whole day looking for a way out.She still eats but this whole week she just hasnt ate as much as she did with him.
So I am second guessing myself ,maybe I should have kept them together?
Doug from deer fern told me he keeps all his together,and doctor K here in phoenix(a chuck breeder) said his will have dominance issues but he keeps them together.
So What should I do? I certainly would rather them be in same enclosure,and they will be living outside in a year or so.
Any help would be great!!
