Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

For some time now i dont use cricket anymore. I still have a full cup of "flukers cricket quencher with calcium" . Do you think i can use it with mealies ?
 
Throw the stuff out it is crap.Why people use this stuff i have no idea.You should allways use fresh veg. and fruites for your bugs.

Fresh veggies is definatly better, carrots, potato and sweet potato are fine, they get beta carotien from the carrots and sweet potato and water and calcium from the regular potato, i've used this for years now and my leos are always adult size at 9 months of age
 
Guess your right

I use strawberrie, carrot and potato. (i guess i should throw the quencher to the garbage then). They do fine, but they dont grow fast enough, lol. I kept my mealies in "organic wheat bran" and they reproduce like crazy ! I have a container for mealies and one for the bug. Once a week i scoop the mealies out of the bug container . I dont find bug with the mealies anymore...i think the pupae are eaten by the mealies. I take my bug in my lizards enclosure. Once in a while some escape and i find a brown bug roaming the enclosure. they are not eaten by my gecko or collared lizard, i guess they taste bad ;)
 
Where abouts did you get the organic wheat bran? was it a general type store or a specialty place? I've currently got mine on large flake oatmeal, and chicken feed, and they seem to grow ok, but i'd love to speed them up!

i take my "organic wheat bran" in a natural food store, you know the kind of place that sell a bunch of crap to cure all disease...seriously, it's a store specializing in natural food, herbs...and all that crap, lol. It dont do miracle but for me it work better than the oatmeal i had before.
 
I read a thread on here that was talking about the dangers of fresh fruits and veggies because of pesticides. I'm not willing to take a chance on that.

Terry,If you wash them with soap and water and rinse,and rinse,and rinse you should not have any worries,been doing it this way for years.
