• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Cindy Chicvara -aka- Dragonlady58 - take a pass!

Dan,
With regard to any deal involving Chuck and box turtles and alligator snappers to or from Louisiana, I have not bothered to review that deal or auction, and nor do I care to. But if a party were interested in getting into the regulatory details, I would imagine that some time and a Google search would yield relevent info. I am not on any witchhunt to find every questionable deal or statement ever made by Chuck. To be honest, with all that I read in this thread, I am not ready to disavow deals with Chuck, label him a bad guy, etc....... just making a mistake here, and compounding it. I certainly respect those for whom that threshold has been crossed. As mentioned before, while I disagree with Chuck's decisions here, Cindy's means of recourse are still relatively accessable. As things currently stand, I do think it accurate to say that, while I often viewed Chuck's prior contributions and comments in different threads as often enlightened and entertaining, they will not carry the same weight any more.

Absolutely. I might add a 3% restocking/relisting fee for my time as well.

Obviously your trying to make a point but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is or to what purpose it will serve. If you think Cindy's going to loose out you're mistaken. I'll chip in with Lucille to make sure that she doesn't loose out.
It's plain you don't care what the people on fauna think or you would have kept a few posts to yourself.
The funny thing is, in re-reading the original post, I got the impression you really didn't want to part with the box turtles. Offering to refund her money on the first missed shipment. I thought that was odd. Then you offered twice more and when Cindy made the grave mistake of "threatening" you, you took your ball home and pouted. I feel you were looking for a way out.
Anyway, I'm done. Lucille, email me if it comes to the re-imbursement thing, I'll gladly help out.

Kevin

Enough

It's obvious to me that this thread has gone beyond the point of normal reasoning and has become nothing less then food for a troll.

For whatever warped reason, Mr Kimmel, you have forsaken any semblance of good business and morals and have led this thread into the realm of childish antics.

Early on, you were given the benefit of the doubt and urged to do the right thing - both for Cindy's sake, and probably more importantly, for your own. You have ignored everything that has been said and now simply choose to belittle and taunt your peers.

The good news is, that most of the people here will probably not be your peers for long, because anyone who would consider doing business with you, but reads this first, would have to be insane to enter into a business deal with you.

I hope that Cindy eventually gets what she is owed, or if she does not, I hope that she pursues this through legal means.

I for one, am finished with this thread and will no longer try and help someone who cannot be helped.

Good luck to you Chuck.

I think it is wasted effort to make the seller see how wrong he is.

Obviously this seller is getting some kinds of "rise" out of being a "insert" .

Still no answer as to why HE didn't go drop off the package himself in 4 days time !!! Instead of complaining about UPS not picking them up. I guess that 1 1/2 mile one way trip was just to much to ask for.

I don't blame Cindy one bit anymore. Yes , she got irate, but obv. for good reason, given that the seller relishes in putting people down with his witty sharp little comments and insults.

He is obv. enjoying this immensely, and the more upset people become, the better ...

I hope Cindy WILL indeed file a paypal claim, he cannot charge her for shipping something that was never shipped. HE is the one that kept delaying, how was she supposed to know when and if it finally ever shipped. EVEN the very last shipping advisory she got, he once again told her that it didn't work out for that day either.

Cindy WILL have a claim if the entire amount is not refunded. And his account will get suspended, I don't care for how long he had the account in good standing, doesn't matter.

Hopefully Cindy will get help from someone that is more versed in dealings with paypal and such, and will figure out how to to start proceedings. She can certainly proof through emails that the seller kept stalling for one reason or another, right down to the end. She can also proof she was promised a full refund AND that she never received a single thing for her payment. She paid for GOODS (not just a service) and the seller cannot proof that the goods were ever shipped or received. No leg to stand on.

IMHO, of course

Exactly what I tried to say, you said it so much more elonquently :)
Thanks, I totally agree...

And in the end....

PayPal just contacted me to suggest a closure of the dispute as claims for live animals are not covered in their TOS. All I had to do was say close it, but I'm an honest guy, so I left it open to refund her the money she's owed this evening. She'll receive the full $195 and she'll be billed for the shipping at a later date if I cannot have that charge reversed.

Thats it. She's the proud owner of a box turtle manual and possibly a $57 shipping label.

I would hope that Cindy would be able to confirm the refund once it occurs. As to the nobility of "being the honest guy by not closong the issue in accordance with the PayPal TOS (my paraphrase)" Chuck, by stating that "their TOS do not cover live animals", I think that is a bit disingenuous. PayPal certainly will honor a claim if any perishable was never shipped. They will not get involved as to whether or not the perishable perished en route!

Hello? You can not legally bill her for shipping when you never shipped her anything.

Thanks for the insight into who you really are and what you are really about though.

Wow.

I can't believe that you had the balls to even type that, man...

You can rub them for good luck if you'd like. Mind you they arent like Dorothy's magic red slippers, they wont take you to Kansas, but they could get you into a really nice hotel room.

Sammy has the quote under his signature about "the true measure of a man ...", and it is certainly valid. I would add that you often see the true character of a man (or woman) when you challenge them with criticism, put them in a pressure situation, see how they react when the chips are down, etc. Chuck, in this thread, you are folding like a cheap umbrella. Heck of a price to pay to be able to collect a month's worth of interest on $195.

Let me just clarify my own learning curve here.

You, Chuck, actually see this as a valid opportunity for you to engage in fraud? :willy_nil

I just love his avatar and statement under his screen name, Its so funny considering there is a bunch of people offering a hand to keep him from drowning and he keeps slapping it away.

And telling you exactly what I think about you was well worth the "warning point" you had issued towards me....

:raspberry

Chuck, enough is enough.

Refund the money and drop this. All this is doing is making you look bad.

Interesting reading about "NARCISSISM"

http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php/type/doc/id/419

couple excerpts:

Arrogant, haughty behaviours or attitudes coupled with rage when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted.

His sensitivity to the needs and emotions of others and his ability to empathize with them deteriorates sharply. He becomes intolerably haughty and arrogant

the narcissist is content to have ANY kind of attention. If fame cannot be had - infamy and notoriety will do

Why on earth would you charge Cindy $57.20 when your original shipping fee was $45?

Holy moly.

You know, I was going to try to stay out of this.....I have always had nothing but respect for you, Chuck. I disagreed with your holding out on her refund, but figured I had nothing to add that others hadn't said very well already.

Tell me you really aren't serious about trying to bill this woman for the shipping label?? And at a higher price than she was charged for shipping in the first place???

All I can do once again is shake my head. It really saddens me, ya know?

You guys don't get it do you!!

The state of the union was sent out via email and posted on this sight......Look around folks.........Wes is gone, JimO won't be returning, pch101 has been long absent, and Chuck is 5 points away from being banned permanently. Do you all really think that Chuck gives a flying fig want you all think of him??

Mods this thread needs to be locked down!

Enough is enough, guys..
I think we have all made our concerns known.
It doesn't make any sense to beat this down anymore...

Laura,

I know there is a point in there somewhere, but I am just not getting it.
