Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well Laura, perhaps once again I'm just a fool looking at the world through rose-colored glasses, but I always like to think that there are people around here that perhaps I can call a friend, and therefore they WOULD give a "flying fig" what I think.....just because someone isn't happy with the way a site has been changed, does that mean that they will not only abandon it (or be banned, as the case may be) but also the friends they made there? I guess I like to think not......but I could very well be wrong.

I put in my thoughts because I LIKE Chuck.....and it truly surprised me that he would ever consider doing such a thing.

No .. no .... no ....I think ! I haven't spoke to her about this, but my impression was that Laura was being rhetorical, in that Chuck was choosing to go out in a ball of flames, as going out seemed a foregone conclusion ! Like you, I have admired so many of Chuck's posts in other threads, and think he let this whole episode spin a bit out of control, to the extent of his demise here. I think Chuck values his friendships, as we all do. Nothing wrong with rose colored glasses ... nothing wrong with being an optimist, or erring on the better half of someone's character. Like Laura, I am aware of the absence of some who used to be frequent contributors here. IMO, it reflects a net loss to the BOI. But the blame lies primarily with those individuals, as it does here with Chuck. Just wish the issue in this thread had minimized around post #10.

Chuck made this statement back on 1/12/06 indicating that he would refund Cindy later that evening.

I received an email from Cindy last night stating that the refund has still not been issued.

Very disappointing Chuck.
 
Sad that Chuck can "Talk the Talk but not Walk the Walk", all that advice he has given in the past, being critical of others who acted the same way etc... and now he chooses to behave like a complete arse and throw it all away over some stupid spiteful antic.. Anyone who can justify taking someone elses hard earned cash and hold on to it for ransom or revenge over a stupid email is not playing with a full deck. What has he gained from this?... nothing.. except his peers disrespect, and a lost customer who will likely now tell several others to stay away from him. Hope that slice of petty revenge taste good...when it turns to ashes in your mouth.

Give the man a prize!! That's exactly what I was trying to get across! Not everyone has a membership to the "hell" forum, so I took the liberty of copying a small tid bit from one of the threads in that forum.

I've followed this thread from the beginning and while I normally refrain from commenting, I must make one simple comment that sums it all up for Me.
This is a classic case of a businessman cutting off his nose despite his face! For Me, a great example of what not to do, as I try to gain a good reputation in the reptile trade, as I'm somewhat of a "newbie" snake breeder. It is often the wisdom of learning what not to do, that can be the difference in the success and reputation of the businessman/hobbyist. Thanks for the lesson! :deadhorse

Laura, and Cathy. I guess I could say that makes three of us. I have for the most part enjoyed reading chuck's posts. As well as teaming up against scammers. I have not got a clue what Chuck is thinking on this one. I emailed him, with no response. I will say this, IMO he is one of the better ones to have on your side as far as if you have been scammed. Chuck has always fought a good fight in those regards. But for the love of God, I don't see why he took this path. I think IMO, he has lost a bunch of respect. I for one feel that there is no excuse for his actions. I cannot understand why he has not returned the money. Chuck, I am not picking a fight, but you are wrong. No question about it. If there is more to this story, I for one would like to hear it. But if this is the whole story, than these threads speak for themselves. This thread has been viewed 7,674 times. Is this what you wanted? I don't know about you Chuck, but $200.00 is not worth loosing your reputation over. When it is all said and done, I don't see how you can undo the damage that has been done. This post is just my opinion.

I would like to say a few thing if I can.

First,

I only smoke every now and then, not much at all, so I do not think I'm an addict.

I didn't start to smoke till I was 18, so I do not think it's for kids( all you under 18 that Chuck said might be reading this, DON'T DO IT!!)

I do hope most can see past this, it is the same thing as drinking a beer. Only no one has ever OD'd on pot, you can OD on alcohol.

Anyway it is your right not to buy from someone who does something you don't like, and when I'm ready to sell, if you don't want to buy from me cause I smoke pot, I'll understand. Just keep in mind, I'm honest, If I wasn't, you all would never know I smoke.

With Chuck posing as a good guy in the fight for integrity in the reptile community, I think this thread should surface. He is very "Critical" of others and has been shown to be petty, abusive, and antagonistic to his own customers, and towards other members of this site. I would think twice before sending him my money.

It seems that everytime I post on a thread you immediately post calling me a name or telling me to "STFU." Leave me alone, and find yourself a new project for 08'. Your problem with me originated in the Ed Clark thread. I was not defending him but you took offense to my post and have been harassing me ever since. It seems you would welcome someone posting in defense of a seller with bad customer service, since you obviously fit the bill.
