In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Cinny or not?

Belly don't me jack

Please before anybody falls for the whole "Every cinny has to have the same belly" load of bull you should really compare a few cinnamons and black pastels.

Check out the first photo of my black pastel which are supposed to have completely clear bellies, and then look at the belly pic. Note my hand please excuse the cuts and what not I work with my hands a lot.

Now somebody please tell me that that black pastel that I purchased from Michelle and Randy at Art In Scales is not a black pastel because of it's dirty belly.

I'd have to say you're not half the expert that you think you are simply because I've seen the parents of this animal as well as other cinnamon, and black pastels with dirty bellies.

Yes it's the norm for both to have clear bellies, but it's also the norm for a pied to have full rings, but it's now excepted that people sell "low white" pieds at the same price. Is that wrong? Hell no. I think low white pied looks better, but for a good long time low white pieds where considered less.

All I ask is that some of you that claim to be experts remember the basics. Not all animals of each morph proven or unproven are gonna look the same.

She may or not be a cinny, but either myself or somebody that takes a liking to her will prove her out, or bust trying.

Either way I, and many people believe she's a beautiful animal, and very few are welcome to their opinion but they think a lot less of her. Oh well.

I'm not sure the other poster was saying that all cinnys MUST have a clear belly, but it definitely helps when trying to narrow something down. The original snake is a mystery, but clearly the black pastel is a black pastel, and gorgeous too by the way. I'm picking up 1.1 next month right from Ian G. I kinda wish you would hang on to her and prove her out "or bust" as you say because it would be really cool if you produced something interesting. Plus I dont know anyone else with a similar dinker to mine :(

Actually the only reason I am considering letting them go is because my wife is on my but about keeping on more of my recessive projects, but I'm always picking up more co-dom, and dom project.

Like I said though, if she doesn't go by Monday she'll stay right where she is, and I'm sure she'll put out a nice clutch late season, or next season.

But while we are on the subject....lol. Nothin but love for ya buddy.

I don't know. Maybe she isn't a cinny. In fact probably not. But like I've stated I don't want a refund ( full refund anyway because she's such a great snake ), but yeah the seller Brian Fontaine did garauntee that she is in fact a cinnamon pastel ball python. With this much question on the fact I'd have to say why don't we let Brian Fontaine explain his reason for selling her as such.

Alright, I thought it would only be fair to bring the seller into this so I basically emailed him giving him a link to this thread, and stating my dissatisfaction with the deal. I've told him that I'm not interested in a full refund, but I'd appreciate it if he'd do something to make this deal right.

If he honestly believed she was a cinny, and sold her to me as such for a premium price and truly didn't know better than I'm sure he'd make right on the deal.

To tell you all the truth I've been really up and down on this whole thing. I've felt the need to defend her because she's such a great animal, but you all are probably right.

I'm still considering her a great dinker project, and hope Brian would make right by the deal by making her price as such. I guess that's on him now though.

I personally would never have guessed her for a cinny and there are quite a few others who agree, not only on this thread, but from the original ad as well. And as I said earlier, she wasnt gravid and was underweight. 3 good reasons for there to be some sort of renegotiation. I can tell this is eating you alive and its best to approach him and try to work something out. If you like her as a dinker, come up with an appropriate price for her and try to come to an agreement. I'd hate to assign a value to it but I would think there's a good chunk of a refund or credit that should be coming your way.

Brian ( the seller ), and I are discussing the whole thing through email right now. I've gotta say that I don't think any of this was intentional, and I'm pretty sure he'll make it right.

Brian was in fact very good with communication, and shipping, and what not so I don't see why he wouldn't be with this. If this was an honest mistake I wouldn't see why this would even get in the way of future business together. What customer/seller relationships go 100% smooth every time?

Some of the posts in this thread are really more appropriate to the BOI - since this is the BP discussion forum, please be careful about discussing transactions, refunds, etc. If you are going to mention those things, and the name of the seller, it should be done on the BOI.

I'm not too familiar with black pastels, but what makes that snake a black pastel (in the pic with the snake wiithout a clear belly)? It almost looks normal.

i own 2.6 black pastels and every one i have seen has a clear belly floating aliens and some what of a blackback. what line is the black pastel with the dirty belly from. just for future reference maybey a new line and not compatible with others. thanks

No, I've actually probably been defending her because of my emotional connection. I do realize that she isn't what she was said to be. I do think it was an honest mistake when sold to me.

The biggest factor that makes her not a cinny is the head. I've got a folder of 124 cinny pictures that I've collected for comparison, and though she has charecteristics of a cinny the one thing EVERY cinny shares is the uni-color head. They have no black pattern on their head. Somebody mentioned earlier that her head is a dead give away. You were right my friend.

So anyway I'd like to thank EVERYBODY who put their two cents in even if I didn't agree with it. As well as the people that had some heated pm, and email exchange with me. All in all I thank you all, and it was very helpful.

Thanks
Dustin Turner
