My first clutch of the season is finally hatching! Here's a pic of Baby #1:

Six eggs total, two have pipped so far and both are pastels (parents are Bell line Pastel x Normal). I'll post pics of the rest once they emerge...

Congrats on your first clutch of the season!! I sure hope that mine come out of their eggs SOON!! ;)

I'm actually out of town at the moment, so my mom and younger brother are taking care of the snakes (we ended up combining all of our collections since my parents have alot more space to house everything than I do). My mom cut the eggs when the first two pipped, she just hasn't told me what we have yet...says she's waiting till they're all out. The wait is killing me, lol.

Lmao!!! She's prolly doing that on purpose!! Haha. Go Moms! LOL

I'd be calling mine every hour, lol.

Not yet....I think she's gonna wait till they shed since we are leaving them together till then (waiting on 2 racks from vision).

I've heard leaving them together till after shed is good for them. Something about in the wild they stay together until they go off to feed and then split up. It gets them on feed faster or so I've heard. I don't have experience as I split all mine up at birth but I've thought of trying it out sometime.

Here's Baby 4:

Still waiting on #6, but I can't complain so far. 4 Pastels and 1 Normal. This will be the first time I've tried leaving them together til they shed, so it will be an interesting experiment.

I'm not sure yet...I think my mom will sex them when they shed and we separate them. Unless I harass her into doing it sooner. I'm torn....they look really nice and if the Pastels are female I'd be tempted to hold on to at least one, but I do have 6 female Pastels already so I'm not sure I have space.

That pastel above the normal is sweet!!! I've always separated mine right away but this year ima leave a few clutches together til they shed, when one sheds ill put it in its own tub. Other clutches ill separate right away. Whatever group feeds faster and better for me will determine how I will go along with doing this in later years after the babies hatch. Only reason I'm trying something new is cause I had a baby that refused to eat no matter what I tried and as a last resort he had to be assist fed. Something I hope to avoid this year.
