In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok this season I have produced 3 clutches from my super hypo pair. And from all the clutches I get 1 hypo/normal and 1 super hypo.. at 2 weeks old 1 baby is black and yellow and one baby is all yellow. I was just wondering, this cant be by chance.. have I stumbled on something? I have heard of dominant hypos but had never looked into them. Could someone help me out?

i have seen them advertised as dominant hypos ( and they COULD be) but i think at best they are co- diminant at best. but like i said in another thread. Hypomelanism is the reduction in melanin so the term hypo is relayive. genetics do not go by how many spots a gecko has (ie. the less than ten spots for a hypo). Breeding a hypo to a hypo if it were co-dominant would give you all hypo babies 25% would be super hypo but you do not know which is a super hypo (technically) if going by genetic rules, rather than just pretty looks. IF it was a dominant gene when bred to a normal all offspring would have varying degrees of hypomelanism.I do not know if anyone has tried to really find out by breeding a hypo to a true normal... and if so what the results were.

The Ghost is a co-dominate or dominate hypo.Ray hine recived some wild caught leos that were very odd and breed them and got the ghost leos then he breed them it to his tangs and got the hypo carrot tailes after a few years of breeding,if you have ray hines line of hypos then they are co-dominate or dominate.
I am working with the ghost and i find them to be co-dominat but i need to do more work with them to be sure.I have breed the ghost to a normale and hatched out 25% ghost and the rest were normale.I also breed the ghost to a ghost and hatched out about 75% ghost and 25% normale.
I hope this makes sence.

Hmm, if I knew the exact blood of this pair it would be much easier.. The female is from Albey's friend.. a breeder here in atlanta, most of his stock he said was Albey blood.. but the male is from VMS herp, and VMS has mixed blood from all over.. So would these Hypos I am hatching have any hidden qualities?

Thanks

Sorry Jodi, but if I remember correctly, Hine crossed his WC hypo females to a tangerine from a Gourmet Rodent male the first year he had the two WC females. I do think a few of them came out lighter (aka ghost), but they still had tangerine blood in them.

Interesting, maybe I should hold on to this pair... a lot of the babies turned out bald that had the ghost feature, while the dad has his head spots. He had tang highlights on his head then after breeding they turned black.

Thanks for the info!
