    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Here is my little girl. She is 2 1/2 years old, she may be a dwarf, but I cannot say just yet. I will probably decide for sure next year. I have seen many like her sold as a "Pastel", but nope, she is just a plain ol' normal.

As you can see, she is not very big, but she did have a growth spurt last year, she is not in any of my breeding plans, I just have her as the little friend that she is. Out of all my boas she is my favorite.

Funny thing about her, she was probably the meanest snake I have ever owned. She would hiss and strike at the glass for hours on end. I had to cover her cage so she could not see out. It took her almost a year before she decided to settle down, she was so annoying. Now she is by far the sweetest snake I have, she never hisses and loves to be held. My wife says I treat her like a puppy and she cannot believe how much the snake enjoys it.
 
very nice snake ya have there.she does look like a few pastels ive seen for 200-300 how big is she?is she het for anything she just has realy nice coloring for just a normal bci.
 
She is het for normal, she is about 38-40 inches long. Pastels are an interesting trait and a name that is misused on a regular basis. I find it some what bothersome that a snake like my little girl is labeled a "pastel" When I have a true "Pastel" in my collection:

wow now that is one nice pastel how big is he.he looks to be about 5-6ft or so.i love those pinks on him just amazing wish i had that pastle i would be breeding him for sure.will any of the babys be pastels if you breed to a normal.
 
He was 6.5 feet at the last measurement 4 months ago. I am hoping to breed out pastel babies, from what I have gathered over the web is that the gene is Polygenic, there are several genes involved. Pastel is similar to a recessive gene but it is not a mutation. So it may take a couple of breeding's to breed out babies like him.

According to some, a pastel is a boa that has little black coloration, little speckling, and a very clean body. The pink is sought after more than the light colored ones. Personally, I think a real pastel should carry a lot of pink with the other traits, color has shown to be a great factor when using the pastel in an albino project.

The basic light, clean body pastel can easily be bred out using normal boas, just simply breeding the lightest colored snakes. A couple of generations will breed out boas like my little girl at the top of this thread. Though my goal is to produce babies like the pastel I have.
 
Yeah, no kidding. I am trying to sort all this out also. If I have pastel babies, then great. That is all that really matters.
