    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Recently I was bitten by my 6 ft female boa during feeding time. I have been keeping boas for almost 15 years and have only been bitten a few times. What concerns me is it has been over a week and I am now experiencing a sharp pain in the bite area, which is in the palm of my hand and is now extending up my arm to my elbow. I can post pictures in the morning if needed. Should I be concerned? Thanks for your time.

I would just go to your doctor. Honestly, they can help you if the bite became infected for whatever particular reason. Also, you could have a tooth stuck in there still that you cant see.

It's definitely clear there are no teeth left inside and the bite has healed nice. I have just never experienced pain spreading like this. Not really swollen, just a little, but there still is bruising. Doc is out of town for the week, didn't want to go to the emergency room unless this sounded severe. I hate seeing doctors.

Cant you just go to a different doctor in the same clinic? Im sure you would still be covered without an emergency visit by insurance or what have you? I dont know how hospital stuff works there, but i can go to any sort of doctor if i need to, dont HAVE to see primary care.

I have just always gone to our family doctor. There is another doctor that works at the same office but he has mis diagnosed certain things in the past. We try to stick with our family doc.

how bad is the bruising or discoloartion? Sometimes the teeth work inwards instead of out. or possibly she hit a nerve? I had that happen before, sharp pain off and on that took a while to go away in my hand, however it didn't spread. I hope the dr can check it out for you.

Bruise is hardly noticeable. In fact, the entire bite is hard to see. Only a small section of the bite has any kind of soreness.

Hand is doing much better. Got it all fixed up. Never thought a bite could cause such an issue. Thanks for all the suggestions.

What was it? My mom got bit by one of my retails she thought was the "nice one" little did she know I did some rearranging in the snake room. She came in one night showing some people the room and tried to pull it the nice one but it wasn't it was the really mean one. She had teeth in her hand she had one that was in there two. Months and finally her body rejected it. Crazy story I know but what was the verdict of yours?

I didn't get into my regular Doc, but an allergy to the bacteria in the snakes mouth is the suggestion. By the time I did anything about it all the swelling and pain had went away. They had never even treated someone for a snake bite, lol. A nasty boa bite needs not to be left un-treated, even if there are no teeth.
