In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

2 of my albino's have not eaten in a little over a month. is it common for them to take that long a break? they seem uncofortable at night cause all they do is walk around trying to climb the glass. temps are good and i provide them with their humid hide, calcium, and water bowl. hey use to be my best eaters. they both weighed 74 grams over a month ago and now they are 67 and 63 grams. they look healthy, still have a fat tail, but im worried about my little guys. any suggestions. p.s. i feed all my geckos mealies.

Geckos do nrmally slow down on eating this time of year, but I am concerned as to how much weight they have lost, a few grams is ok, but not 10 or more. I would have them looked at by a vet, better safe than sorry.

Just curious, how long have you had them? What is the temp on the hot and cool side?

i've had them since sept 11th. i bought them at a show. the temps are 90 degrees on the warm side. i made sure the temps were perfect.

both female tangerine albino's. the 63 gram female is 10 months old. The 67 gram female is going to turn 1yr in may. like i said they were my best eaters. i would drop about 20 mealies every other night and they would go nuts on them. i have them housed on paper towels. the humid hide is a rubbermaid with paper towels. a calium and water bowel also. I have 2 other giants that are housed the same and they eat well. I treat all my geckos the same. they live in clean enviroments.

It may be possible that the females are ovulating... they are certainly the right age and weight. This can cause lack of appetite. If you hold them up to look at their bellies and bend them back just a little, can you see button-sized pink circles in their lower left and upper right abdomen?

it could be. im at work right now but i'll check it out when i get home. would ovulating really cause them not to eat for a little over a month. its wierd, they're like twins. they stopped eating at the same exact time. the 67 gram female has eaten a few mealies over the period because she left behing a few stools.

Im sort of having this problem , only with a supre giant female who is growing and i really want her to eat well. Shes 68 grams and 8 months old. But shes beeen 68 and hardly eaten a worm for about a month. Hwo do yo uget them to stop ovlating? LOL i never thought i would say that. There are no males anywhere near her BTW.

Sounds like one of our AFTs a little while back... she literally pined away for about two months until we put her back in with her man lol. They should get past it soon, but in the meantime why not try tempting them with some crix or waxies? It's worth a shot, especially if it gets them eating again.

should i try putting them with a male. my male is very willing, lol. i was going to at first, but they werent eating so i was afraid that they would continue not eating and i would get unhealthy offspring if any.

1 year@67g and 10 months@63g should be okay to breed (notice I say should, I can only go on our own experience, and I know many disagree.) Cory and I like to aim for 60g+ before breeding, and two of our best breeders this year (they've produced 12 beautiful hatchlings with more eggs in the incubator) were approximately 10 months old when we mated them. Like I said in my other post, one of our fat tails was pining away to nothing, and when we checked with her previous owner, he said it was likely she wanted to breed. A couple of weeks in with the male and she had fattened up considerably, and not just with eggs! ;)

i put my male in the female enclosure this morning and the female didnt even move when she saw that tail shake. i put him with the 63 gram female. The male started the whole biting process but then stopped, i dont think he was into because it was morning but im sure he will complete the work tonight. their was a big size difference, my male is 88 grams. hopefully this is why she is not eating tho, because she needs to breed. i'll keep everyone posted on what happens tonight.

Keep a fairly close eye on them, considering the size difference. If he didn't seem overly rough on his first approach, and she's looking receptive, hopefully everything will go just fine! Fingers crossed for you (and them!)

ya, i never leave them in together unsupervised. he's a jungle giant albino and shes a tangerine albino. im going to try to get a pic tonight and post it for you to see the size difference. thanks for all the help Darlene!

yep, i got home from work at about 10.30 tonight and put my male with one of the females and they got right to it. hopefully she will start eating now. i posted a pic below. 88 gram giant male and 63 gram female. he's about to shed and the pic was taking at night so sorry for the quality.
