In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Confessional

Yeah, pretty much anything tropical and/or arboreal. Not my thing. I exclusively keep terrestrials, and prefer reptiles that don't require high humidity.

I don't keep water turtles, I used to, but I hated cleaning their tanks. Now I just keep my ball python and savannah monitor.

I cannot think of a single one that I have a bias against.

However, I will not, personally, keep venomous (with exception of rear fanged), huge boas & pythons, nor crocs/gators. The reasons are not due to a bias, though, and do love them.

:iagree: to a point I do like big snakes.

I just do not see the attraction of snapping turtles - ugly as sin from my perspective.

Also, (although I have a friend who's passionate about them) never could get excited about Gila Monsters/ Beaded Lizards. They look sluggish and boring to me.

But hopefully all their mothers love them....

Same boat. Not biased against any family. I am way too nervous in keeping them, though I find most incredibly beautiful! Over the years of being distracted, just once and forgetting to close a cage or close it all the way. Presto, my luck would equal a bite. Bummer.

I was failing 10th grade Biology class pretty bad in Alabama. Too much memorizing of lengthy seemingly worthless definitions. Anyways, the Biology teacher offered my extra credit to bring him snapping turtles for the classroom tank. Spent the next couple weekends in Alabama rivers / swamps catching turtles. I ended up with a C-.

I'm bias against whatever species everybody else is going ga ga over.
Right now, that seems to be ball pythons, leopard geckos, and bearded dragons.

Actually, I like all herps. I just don't necessarily want to keep them all.
