In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Constrictor Rule Comment Open

I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention.
If it passes, that means no more transportation of various species of snakes over state lines. Much like what happened to the Burmese python.

This includes various subspecies of Boa including Red tails.

Most breeders secretly it will make the price go up.

if you don't think so you are . well I will be nice.....I am willing to bet some big names have given money to get it passed.:yesnod:

Maybe

If it does get passed, at first I think the prices might go up because of the fear of them being taken away from the public; but in the long run it might actually make prices go down because they can't reach out to a wider database so there's less demand for them because everyone within the in state customer database will have their fill of them.

Kind of like when a new ball python morph becomes available, at first it's something everyone wants but when everyone has dished out enough money for them and everyone has one, then prices go down because the demand isn't as high.

But back to the point, if this passes...this means a serious cut down to breeders and their databases because they can't go over state lines. It also means if an animal needs to go over state lines whether it be for research or veterinary reasoning, it's suddenly a crime.

Also HSUS (Human Society of America) is spreading lies about constrictors.

Yes, I know, post on a necro thread but there is an update from USARK:

Dan Ashe (Director of USFWS) has reported he will be announcing a finalization to the Constrictor Rule via a press conference at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Boynton Beach, FL tomorrow (3/6/15) at 12:00 PM EST. USARK will provide additional information as it becomes available. At this time, USFWS has not made any official statement. For additional information on the Constrictor Rule, click here: http://usark.org/2014-blog/constrictor-rule-1/

Yea but you can tell the author is pro ban, so I'm not sure how true the "facts" are.

Well, if it is true, then expect only ball pythons at reptile expos.
Dumerils and rainbow boas are not on the list. Neither are ATB's, ETB's, GTP's, Savu Pythons, Olive and Papuan pythons... Yet...

Are you aware how long it takes to produce dumerils? I do … 9 months. However, if this does come to fruition, my dum babies will go up in price. :)

Also, BCIs have been reclassified as boa imperator, which may be a way around the "law".

I wondered about that. If listed as Python reticulatus, would reclassification as Malayopython or Broghammerus then be a work around? If they can bypass laws on a technicality, then we should be able to, as well.

also, are you on the Dumeril's page on Facebook?

I am not sure about that. I know that the Boa Imperators were reclassified due to enough genetic diversity to be considered a separate species.

I am on Dumeril's Boas Lovers.

Probably wouldn't work since they can pick and choose when a technicality can work.

cool. So am i. Your name looked familiar, and i couldn't place why it did both here and there until i happened to go directly from the different feeders post on there to this one here.
