In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I paid to become a contributing member and I'm still locked out of the classified area and I'm not able to add a thread. Not sure if I misunderstood what it meant to be a contributing member, could someone clear this up for me.
Thanks

Hi Cheryl.....see if this link to the subscriptions works for you.

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/subscriptions.php?
Yes, it works and I've already paid 25.00(yesterday) for my subscription but I don't have access to post in the classified section, they're all locked still and should I also have the "coins" where my avatar should be?

I have my paypay receipt saying everything went through.

You can contact the boss with this link....I think. Give it a try.

Thank you, I have sent a PM to the link that was given above. Hopefully this will get worked out.

The icons on the side still show me as being "Locked" out of the classified section?

Ask Rich if you need to log out and log back in again for the changes he made to take effect. Just an idea.
I just tried that and nothing changed, thank you for the suggestion.

Once you have a paid subscription are those forums suppose to be unlocked to contributing members?
(the section below this Admin section......Reptile & Amphibian - Classifieds)

I believe so....I mean you did pay for it so it should be available to you. I trust they are aware and working on the problem so you should be fixed soon.

You will need to send WebSlave another private message. While it shows in your user title that you are now a contributing member, your profile still shows your Primary Usergroup as a registered member and not a contributing member.

On the positive side, you only have four more posts to go before your coins appear.
See, there's good in everything! lol

I guess I'll PM him again.

Did you actually try to make a post? I'm not sure what those locks are supposed to represent, but I have them there, too, and I can utilize the classifieds.

I just took another look, it seems that the the locks show up under the main forum title (ie Snakes For Sale), but once I advance beyond the index page it shows the subforums as being open. Regardless, the locks showing does not necessarily mean you cannot access the section. Give it a try.

yep, i can get in :dancer01:, I guess when webslave said it was taken care of back a few posts that's what he meant.

Thanks everyone!!

That is the way it is supposed to be. The paid subscription program works in a stacking manner to add memberships to a primary group. I'm using this a little bit differently from what it was designed to be used for. Technically, it was designed to be used to add forum access for one or more paid memberships ,much like HELL memberships are done here. I just use it to provide custom permissions for already accessible forums. In a sense, the permissions of the additional user groups are "OR"ed together with the regular membership permissions. That is, if the permission is "NO" in the regular membership, but "YES" in a paid membership, then permission is determined to be "YES".

In the newer version of vBulletin, it is actually possible to stack the icons in the profile section of a post with ALL of the combined subscriptions a member may have. Which is pretty much in keeping with the original design purpose, I think, but not exactly in line with how it is used here. Except for the HELL membership, there really is no reason for a member to stack multiple paid memberships.

Sorry about the confusion for posting permission access to the classifieds.

Now, I sure wish I could get this blasted problem straightened away. At this point I really don't know if it is PayPal or my server. Sure hate to do a server move just to find out that it didn't fix the problem. And trying to contact PayPal is pretty much a wasted effort..........
