I have had to resort to making my own Lexan/screen tops for a couple of small to medium sized aquariums and have come up with some pretty solid and cool items. My question is this: Given the incredibly high prices for decent caging for new/baby/neonate to juvenile reptiles (PARTICULARLY tropical needs guys), is a top which will hold humidity, and has cut outs for lights if needed something that would make it easier for the newbie hobbyist to get involved with herping? Instead of paying 200-300$ for a cage for their Jungle Carpet or Rainbow Boa or what have you, they can start off with a 10-20 gallon aquarium for 20-60$ and one of my tops anthey are set...What would you be willing to pay for such an item, and is it worth producing on a larger scale instead of just for my own use...I move my guys out of aquariums into larger cages when they are ready, but they make great starter setups....What do you think??
