A medical examiner is trying to determine if a coral snake bite killed a 29-year-old man who collapsed minutes after a scuffle with the poisonous reptile.
If so, Inocencio HernandezHernandez's death will be the first attributed to the red, yellow and black snake in more than 40 years, according to Dr. Robert Norris, an expert in snake poison from Stanford University in California.
Coral snake venom attacks the nervous system. A treatment was developed in 1967.
