In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Corey Sawyer Busted!!!!

Maybe I am confused

Maybe I am confused, but it sure looks to me like "Kevin" committed to purchase those snakes for $1750. Now you've gone ahead and admitted that Cory is Kevin, and that you sent the "Kevin" e-mails to get an address and phone number. Do I understand this correctly?

Well, does Kevin/Cory intend to follow through with the purchase? If yes, great. If not.......thats kind of low. He removed those animals from active sale on "Kevin"s word that he was sending payment. Yes, I know it happens all the time....but that doesn't make it "Right" or "Okay."

Maybe you didn't "Shake hands" in the literal sence, but a lot of deals are made for reptiles on the "Virtual" hand shake. The deal was made.....now what.....what is your word worth?

Corey I'm really confused. I thought you where a really straight up guy but now you admit to lieing and deceiving someone. I don't understand why you getting his address was so important as to ruin your reputation. I understand you tried other methods to get his address but I don't understand why you had to have it so bad to begin with.
Respectfully,

Perhaps a lawsuit in the offing? But, even so, I don't think the lie was cool. Tell one for one thing and who's to say you won't for the next thing? The seed of doubt has been planted and very well fertilized here.

wes pollock

I understand the frustration that brought about Corey's prevarication. However, as a personal more, I do not lie, and I do not tolerate lying from others.

Corey, that was not an ethical or moral way for you to behave. You ought to publically appologize for your actions, at the very least.

I apologize for the lieing to Justin, however due to the false things he said about the het stripes, the fact he tried to rip me off, and the fact I needed his address for legal reasons, I do not fee ashamed of it. I had no other way to get his address.

The motives behind Corey's urgent need for Justin's address were a mistery. It was obvious he never had the intention to follow through with the deal. Although it now seems to be clear why I still don't condonne the action. In MHO the end does not justify the means. How is that different from the kid that a few days ago initiated a thread about himself? Should Corey feel ashamed about what he did? I guess that depends on each individual.

Alvaro,

How would you of gotten his address? I tried all the methods I could think of, but was unable to find it. Should i feel ashamed about lying to someone who tried to rip me off? Then made up some BS about me for telling people he tried to rip me off? I dont think so.

Corey,

How would you of gotten his address?

If the reasons were legal in nature, you could have maybe let your lawyer handle it.

Should i feel ashamed about lying to someone who tried to rip me off? Then made up some BS about me for telling people he tried to rip me off? I dont think so.

I'm no one to judge if you were right or wrong in your approach. Now, if you lie to someone who lied to you, how does that make you different from that person? Is it OK to rip off someone because he did it to you before?

In all honesty I regret you had to resort to that extreme to get his address.

Regards

I have no regret in what i did to get his address. My lawyer said he would have to pay someone to find it, I didnt feel like doing that.

that is truly pathetic, not man enough to come out and ask the man for his address NONONO have to be a "snake" no pun intended about it,,,and i must have missed something PLEASE TELL ME I MISSED SOMETHING ,,but now you justify your cowardly lowlife actions because you say this man tried to ripp you off? where?when?how?i totally missed that/??/?,,,please explain,,,, thomas davis:(

If the only way to get his address was to offer to purchase something....well then you should have offered to purchase something you can afford.

Can you afford $1750? Is your word worth $1750? You made the purchase offer.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it necessary to serve court citations in person? Can they be sent through regular mail?

Regards.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it necessary to serve court citations in person?
Yes, you must serve them in person. Another reason why you'd need a physical address.

I don't think I'm going to harshly judge Corey for this one. First of all, he didn't lie about it. With reputations being what they were, I think that Corey could have safely gotten away with claiming that Justin fabricated that matching IP address. After all, why would you do an IP trace on a someone wanting to buy some snakes? Have any of you ever done that? It was done the day after the address was requested. What was Justin worried about? Maybe he was nervous because he knew that Corey was trying to get his address for service of legal papers? Heck, I don't know, I'm just speculating, but what made Justin so suspicious?

However, Corey didn't do that. He said, "Yep, I did it, and this is why."

Secondly, I don't think the snakes were ever taken off the market. Remember, Justin did this IP trace the day that he sent the address to Corey. I've had many people ask for a paypal address or address to send money to, but when following up a week later, been told that they didn't come up with the funds or had changed their mind. I don't get upset about that.

Many people won't take an animal off the market until they've received funds. I WILL take an animal off the market once I'm told "PayPal has been sent" or "I put the check in the mail", and when that turns out to be false, I DO get upset about that, but that's the way it goes.

Finally, it does cost money to get a lawyer to do your legwork for you, easily a couple of hundred bucks to find an address of someone who doesn't want it to be known.

I'm not sure what Corey's legal claim is against Justin, and I don't know who is right or wrong in the dealings they've had together. I don't think I would have done things the same way that Corey did, but I don't believe that I will judge him too harshly over what has transpired so far.

Legal papers (i.e. Lawsuits, summons, etc.) can be served via Certified mail in most states. The requirement to be served by a person is not there in most cases. Some still use that method as it is more intimidating to the receiver but not always necessary.

Davis, got read the last thread.

Terese, I was quoted $500 to locate the address, not paying that.

and yes, papers can be sent by mail.

Thanks for clarifying the legality of serving papers through regular mail.

Regards.

Man oh man...

Pathetic??? Cowardly????? Lowlife??? C'mon people, aren't we being a wee bit harsh??? I mean, I've read through threads involving way worse subject matter than this, and it didn't get this ugly. There's something going on here, and little details have been made public, so maybe, just maybe, Corey did what he had to do, like someone stated before...he didn't lie about lying, LOL that sounds kinda funny, but it is the truth. As far as the guy thinking Corey should pay for it...if I got the money from 1/10th of the people who said they we're purchasing an animal from me, I wouldn't be stressing over my daughters up & coming college years!! I've had 2 or 3 SELLERS from this sight tell me the money is on the way, only never to hear from them again...not even a "sorry, I changed my mind" what I'm saying is, there has to be more to this thread than meets the eye, and you know what, I don't even care. I don't know either party but bashing Corey (whom I've heard some really good things about, mostly from the people here at the BOI) is far from deserved as I see it. Again, I've witnessed much, much worse wreak less havoc on someone who actually deserved it on this forum.

IT STINKS

Having read this thread, all I can say is it stinks completely. Perhaps Corey will have learned a good lesson from this and be a better person in the future.....

We all make mistakes, this was a dumb one as it was stupid and deceitfull.
