    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Corn Snakes -Persistent, Severe Respiratory Infection? Sinus Problems?

Just thought I would update -

All Corns are the same as they have been. Sneezing, Wheezing, Popping - Not much Drool at all though. They are eating and seem otherwise fine.

We took Sharra, the one that's been sick the longest, in for a CBC. They did a CBC and two blood smears and sent them to Pathology. They all came back normal, all WBC counts were within normal limits, thus indicating no infections.

So, back to a very confusing square one. Not going to pump them full of Fortaz at this point. Going to attempt some x-rays this week to see if we can detect any physical lung damage.

I thought I would do a small update, though not much has changed.

This coming February will be 1 year since Sharra got sick. August will be a year for Adore and Argent.

I took all the snakes in for x-rays and they called in a wildlife specialist in radiography to analyze the x-rays. She saw no damages, inflammation, anything at all in any area of the lungs or sinuses, nothing to indicate infection or inflammation or sinus problems.

I asked the vets about trying them on Dexamethasone, because users on cornsnakes.com have suggested an allergy, but he is reluctant to do so because he said if it WAS an allergy issue some inflammation would have shown in the x-rays and the x-rays were perfectly normal.

The snakes are all still pretty much the same. It might be my imagination, but I think the sneezes have lessened. They still sneeze ocassionally and sometimes I go in and they will have a tiny mouth gape, Argent is the worst about that. Other than that they are still voracious eaters and seem happy.

I am truly at a loss as to what is going on with them. I have had no other illnesses or issues with any other snakes, and these guys are still on a totally separate floor of my home. I can't keep them separate forever, so I am not sure what to do. I don't know if I should try and give them away as pets, or re-home them in case it really is allergies and they might get better in a different state or area or something? I honestly have no idea what to do. They don't seem like they're suffering but it all really seems so crazy.

Sometimes I and my vet still discuss the possibility of a viral problem, but it's been a year!! Viruses usually wouldn't work that way, I think if it was a virus the host would be dead by now. I don't know. Makes me want to go back to school to be a vet, though.

Thanks for reading.
