    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,

Could someone share the tank set up and or general care they give to their captive Thamnophis marcianus? Also, if possible, could you share photo's of the cage and your specimen(s)? Lastly, do you believe Thamnophis marcianus should be consuming F/T rodents only or do you believe in a "varied diet"? If you believe in a "varied diet", could you please tell me what prey items you use? Also, the ratio/rotation of the prey item in the overall "feeding plain"?

Thanks for your time and looking.

I feed rodents only and keep them in 28qt tubs with a medium-sized water bowl a hide and fake plants. Humidity is 50-65 and temps are 75-88°f.

Here is my female pastel granite checkered

Thanks so much for that information. My only question, from the above information is this: any idea what that translates into when it comes to tank and or vivarium size?

The picture's of your male and female Granite mutation Thamnophis marcianus are amazing. I will hopefully be acquiring a albino male in the next two weeks. What other colour mutations do you breed?

I just printed out your care sheet. I will also join that forum/group you recommend.

Lastly, what substrate(s) do you use/recommend?

Thanks so much for your time and prompt response!

20-30 gallon tanks. 20 long is minimum for a pair.
I breed pastel, super pastel, granite/pastel granite, albino, albino granite. Thats all the morphs there are in the hobby right now.
I use aspen. I buy my bedding from Wal-Mart. They are a more southern species so are more tolerant to the upper end of temps. You should put a hide on the warm and cool side so they can thermo-regulate

Wow, you have quite the collection. When you have time, I would love to see photo's of the other morphs.

Thank you, again, for that information.

Thanks for that information too.

I am drooling. :yesnod::D :)

Some are as pretty as the "blood red" colour mutation of Pantherophis guttatus that I truly consider "divine".

Please forgive the following inane questions, but, I must ask. What is the white one with the orange stripe down the back? What are you asking for ones like that specimen?

The blue Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis or what I assume is a blue Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis, that is in your hand and in the grass cost what approximately? For that "quality and color", I mean.

If you want to tell me what the other species are, it would be greatly appreciated. I am assuming some are "Red sided" and albino "Red sided". But, I am NOT completely sure.

You have some amazing Garter Snakes...I might be very poor in the next few months.....I suddenly fell like I found some "needs" for my collection.

Most are plains garters (Thamnophis radix). One of the red albinos are red sided but the others are plains. The blue in the grass and in my hand are Oregon red spotted (Thamnophis sirtalis concinnus) i posted hybino plains. Red plains. Red albino plains. Blue Axanthic plains. B&w axanthic. T+ and T- albino plains. Snow plains. Blizzard plains. Blue puget sound. Anerythristic plains. Normal Oregon red spotted and paradox leucistic red sided. Feel free to text me about pricing and any other questions.

Im also on Facebook. I have a like page and personal profile and run 2 garter groups on there. The main group is called Thamnophis

Here's some more pics
