In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have seen some animals for sale from Craig from G.E. Reptiles that I am interested in. I have not seen any posts here about him so if anyone has info, please let me know. Here is what I have:

Craig (210) 544-3558 e-mail [email protected]
"Our company, G.E. Reptiles, has been in operation since the late 90s. We offer a full line of exotic reptiles and inverts."
Craig D. Gagne
OWNER G.E. REPTILES
CO-OWNER SMALL WORLD IMPORT/EXPORT
USA BASED OFFICE 001.210.544.3558

Craig Cagne is a rather young person, and he must have started importing while in high school if the "operation since the late 90s" portion is true if he means the importation section of his "business." Whether it is or not, Craig is not necessarily known to be a very honest person. Check out http://www.southtexasreptiles.com/strforum/showthread.php?t=2485 for another thread elsewhere about him and his business practices.

A large number of people (including myself) watched him remove snakes from a shipping container at the 2008 NARBC expo in Arlington, TX. These containers still had import stickers on them proving that the poor animals had never even been opened, checked, or watered. He placed them on his table and claimed them as captive produced since this was a 'captive bred show only.'

His quality at Tim Cole's show (again, he was selling wild herps at a captive bred only show) was so bad that many vendors complained about him having a table. I've seen dead and dying imported lizards "for sale" on his table at that expo in the past. I have heard that he is no longer allowed to purchase a table and vend in that series of shows, but I can't confirm or deny that fact.

Thanks for the post NellieLindgren. The geckos I am looking at getting are WC animals so I understand that they will be weak and need lots of care to "fix them up". I would like to hear if anyone has bought from him over the Internet or prepay before a show and if he came though with okay (good for WC) animals. Thanks, ericR

Keep in mind...if he's selling fresh imports as cbb, what else is he being less than honest about? It goes to character and I'd exercise a little extra caution.

Hi Eric,

Did you read through the link that nellie gave you? She gave you her time and a sufficient warning about them but you are so heart set on getting burned you will go and buy anyway. If you aren't really going to head warnings why ask? There are actual good WC sellers of geckos, ones that have been treated and have been reconditioned back to a healthy animal. BE PATIENT and find a good source for them.

Thanks Lee + Michael,

I am going to be holding off on these animals from Craig until I see them in person at the Daytona show. Thanks for the posts. Any advice on Mark M. Lucas in FL - I guess I need to start a new post for this question.... thanks again.

On 4.8 I can't do better than $X bc my 12 lot price on the wholesale list would include some juvies... But for $X each I will hand pick you 12 perfect ones.

This is a copy of the email Craig Gagne sent me regarding Williamsi electric blue geckos. I received only 11 animals (two of which were DOA)that are far from perfect. I have regen tails, missing tails, missing toes and 5 out of the nine are juveniles I paid a little extra for sexable adults. Only one adult female , one tiny juvie not sure of sex and other seven are all males. I had a local gecko breeder verify this with me using a jewelers loop. I tryed to contact him several times about my disatisfaction and he seams to have lost my phone number and email address all of a sudden. Buyers Beware.

Sorry to hear that. If you paid by CC, you may be able to dispute the charge. Other than that, it may just have to be chalked up as a lesson learned. Thanks for posting.

Although we have all had different experiences, I know Craig to be a good guy. I am not sure the condition of the animals you recieved, however, they ARE WC animals...Which usually means they are going to have issues. As far as the bad customer service, I cant speak of it. He was promt with me last year, and has been promt with me this year, and I am going to be getting many more chameleons from him.

I am not saying the other run ins with craig havnt been bad, but mine is nothing of the sort. I am sorry to hear he has lost business among you.

Jake

STAY AWAY FROM "CRAIG GAGNE". He lies. STAY AWAY!!!!!! Bad Bad Bad person to work with. He's great at 1st but when you have a problem he's gone.

Mark Lucas has been around for quite a while, and while I haven't heard anything specifically bad about him, his terms have made me hesitant to deal with him.

Good guy; knows his animals; pleasure to talk to over the phone.
