Boy oh boy, I wish I would have seen this thread when I did a search a couple of months ago. In June Craig was advertising a pair of adult Ghost Rosy Boas for $1950.00 I was interested, so I called him and e-mailed him to find out the actual origin of these snakes, as there are very very few true ghost (hypomelanistic anerytheristic) Rosy boas in existence. But there are a few hypo San Felipes that are occasionally referred to as "Ghosts" by some people that feel the need to confuse the heck out of things. Anyway I was very interested in these guys and wanted to get some answers. Well after a couple of E-mails and numerous phone calls Craig finally called me back. He said was brokering them for Joe Terry and could provide very little info except that they were "a couple of years old" and that they were produced by Scott Selstead at Vision Herps. He told me to call Scott for details, and to call him back when I had some more information on them so that I could fill him in. That just seemed like a really odd thing to expect a prospective buyer to do. However, I eventually called Scott, and found out that the snakes were Hypo San Felipes that were also much older than two years of age. Exactly how old they are is uncertain, as Scott has been out of Rosy Boas for more than a just a couple of years now, and he did not remember what year he sold that pair to Joe.
Anyway, I was still considering purchasing them (mainly because I somehow missed this thread when I ran my search), so I called Craig again, and again, and again, and I e-mailed him as well. He eventually returned my call, and I filled him in with what I knew. Then he informed me that Joe also had a nice pair of Hypo Borrego Rosy Boas for sale. I told him that I was very interested in them, and that I was still considering the Hypo San Felipes also. I asked if he could send pics of the Hypo Borregos and some better pics of the Hypo San Felipes, and he said it would be no problem. Well, weeks went by and I still had no pics, so I called him numerous times again, and when I finally got him he again promised me some pics. More weeks went by, and still no pics. He did mention in an earlier conversation that if he had not sold then by the time the Daytona show came, he would just bring them to the show and sell them there. I tried calling him all week and he finally called me back today and told me that he sold the Hypo San Felipes and the Hypo Borregos. Well after reading this thread I am very glad that I did not make an impulse decision. My gut was right and I am so very glad that I did not send this guy any money. I really need to pay more attention when I run my searches here!
