• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone dealt with www.crayfishshop.com?

I did. I ordered some snails from them (Jeff Stout/aquadreams) two weeks ago and still haven't received them yet. He won't answer emails or the phone number listed on the site. I have since learned that he does this all of the time and has been banned and suspended from ebay and aquabid.

He has some really good-lookin' stuff there....I just wish I could see what I paid for in person.

I wonder if anyone here has had the same experience with him and got it resolved. If so, how? I'm really new at this :shrug01:

Jason, did you receive any kind of invoice/shipping information/order verification giving you a date when your order would be shipped?

I got an email on the 12th that said order# ********* had been shipped from Stout Enterprise. My account at crayfishshop still says the order is processing. I thought at first it might be a problem with USPS shipping, but now I'm sure the problem is crayfishshop since he won't communicate with me at all. That and All the other people he has done this to.

Have you requested a refund? If not, I would do so immediately, and if you don't get an answer in a reasonable amount of time, file a complaint with Paypal or whatever method you used to pay. Make sure you file within the time limits, Paypal is 45 days.

I used a bank/debit card. I would ask for a refund if he would actually get in touch with me.

Shoot, someone see if you have any luck contacting him http://crayfishshop.com/contact_us.php . Tell him you are interested in getting 10 or 12 red spotted newts. lol. Maybe that will get his attention, atleast to see if he responds to anyone.

thanks

Why would you need to ask him for anything? Enough time has passed for this transaction to have been successfully completed.

Call you bank and report the transaction as fraud. Get his personal information and contact his local police dept. with the situation.

Sounds to me like this guy is raping his local pond by dragging nets (newts, crayfish, tadpoles). Perhaps a call to animal control is also in order.

In case I missed it...whats this guys full name and what state does he reside?

Never mind my question..

Heres his personal info through a "who is" lookup.

Why dont you give him a call considering he isnt responding to your emails.

Hmm... that phone number was for birthdaydirect.com. They said they didn't know him.

I'll get my wife to contact the bank since it was on her own account.

Thanks Chuck and Cathy.

It was my pleasure to help. With respect to the phone number, it could be that his phone number has changed and he has not updated his registration records.

Good Luck...

Well, my wife called the bank and the transaction didn't even go thru until the 14th. So he didn't even have the money when I got the email stating he had shipped it on the 12th.

Got his cell #. No answer yet.....

I already emailed him on the 24th at the address given on his site to inquire about some frogs....no response as of yet. I figured maybe I'd hear from him today....but haven't.

I would make sure that you have sent him at least an email requesting an immediate refund....whether he answers or not. Give him 24 hours to refund the money by choice (or provide absolute proof that the order has indeed shipped)....and then file the chargeback if you don't get anything. That way, you are covering yourself if he tries to come back on you for stopping the payment without notice.

That's just how I would deal with it......good luck.

Animal control, in most states (if not all), really have no jurisdiction in capture of native wildlife if done properly. DNR, Fish&Game, Wildlife&Fisheries, etc. (whatever it is called in Alabama is who'd you call. I suspect it is legal, so i think calling it "raping" the pond a little extreme without knowing the actual situation. The guy doesn't sound like someone I'd buy from, but I won't judge a book by its cover concerning his environmental awareness.

Besides, guys only collect lots of wild critters because customers buy them. It isn't ALL on the head of the collector, is it?

This is all a side issue because the potential libel bothered me, but I DO hope you get your money back. If your bank doesn't return your money with no items shipped, I'd give my bueiness to another bank that cared more about its customers....lol.

I've done like you suggested, Cat. I figure if enough people try to get in touch with him he will maybe take some kind of action. Hell, anything. An email telling me to "piss off" would be better than being ignored.

Thanks again.

Will do, Cat. Still nothing so far. It's good to have a place like this on the net, it might keep someone else from getting cheated. Atleast I've learned to do more research on the next seller.

Thanks again for lending some support to a dumb Okie like me.

I just got a email from him saying that he has now refunded my money! Two actually....one from Stout Enterprise and one from him personaly.I guess all the pestering worked. Well something worked anyway. I hate that it had to go down like this all for the whopping sum of.......................$9.95

He called about an hour ago and confirmed that he refunded the money and shipping the snails too. He also said that I now have $20 credit at his site.

He apologized and we talked for quite awhile, and told me that they had been really busy. I think he said they had been moving was one of the reasons for the delay. I don't know what to think. Should I feel good or bad?

Well, I'm sure glad to hear you got your money back!! WHether it was $1 or $1000, customer service is customer service, and not getting what you paid for is inexcuseable. I understand people get busy, but if they are too busy to take care of their customers, they shouldn't be doing business, IMO.

Maybe this guy will turn it around, who knows....but I never did get an answer to the email I sent him about the frogs either, lol.
