    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Well KelliH confirmed for me last night that the seller is legit at least in regards to the PA so I would assume the rest are legit as well.

In other words, let me turn this from a distrusting inquiry into: BUY WITH CONFIDENCE

I am actually prchasing the pieds from him. I checked with ralph and the pics he sent me are from ralph and his name he goes by is PACO. Ralph is familiar with him and says the animals are ligit.

I would like to know the answer to that myself... I have emailed both parties and will post what I find out.
 
Okay, I already got a reply from HCE, Inc.

It reads:

So I guess everything is legit?
 
I don't know how legit you want to call this particular business practice.... how do you interpret this exactly?


It doesn't seem very honest if multiple companies are posting ads for animals and in the end it all leads back to one person.

What is it, the first person to sell the animals gets a cut of the profits?
 
Their called brokers. Every industry in the world has them. As long as their is clear communication with all selling parties so the animal doesn't get sold twice there usually isn't a problem with this. Specifically with animals the question that comes to mind is guarantees on quality (ie health, feeding etc). The broker has to completely trust the breeder since it is the broker's name on the line.

Seems a waste of energy for all of them to sell on the same classifieds system though since they will get exposure to the same exact buyers.
 
yes, I understand the concept, however as you pointed out: they are all advertising on the same system. It just seems unethical, because while a customer may see a number of offerings of a certain morph from a number of breeders, in this case it is all the same animal.

The customer sees a competitive market, when in reality it is a monopoly.
 
Unless they are preventing others from advertising other snakes (thereby making a monopoly) then I don't feel it's unethical. Not the brightest use of energy but ethics doesn't play into it.

Real estate people do it all the time. A public listing with a realtor puts you into an associations database. Most local realtors will pull of this database for available houses.

Due to some underhanded techniques by brokers in the herp world, brokering has a bad flavor to it in this industry. When done properly (ie not double selling an animal, proper representation, quality animals) it is a sound business practice for all involved (breeders can move larger volumes so they are not left with unwanted animals, customers can get the animal they are looking for easily without having to contact a large number of breeders for a specific animal). But I think this is getting to the point it should be in the "Business Discussion" section.
 
First, I really appreciate everyone for yours inputs. Second, I just want to clear up this situation. I got an email from Harry Eisenman, H.C.E., Inc, to verify that Paco, Crazy Colored Reptiles, bought those hets from him, and he gave Paco permission to use his picture. It's all legit, and it's not unethical to me. I bought a het pied ball pythons. If later for some reason I have to sell them, I must provide information as well as proper proof to verify their genetic. Since I am a nobody in the market, I may obtain permission from the owner of the parents to post the parents' picture. Do you think it's unethical????
 
I agree

Nothing unethical about it at all. It does raise a red flag when situations like this occur (2 different ads, same animals pictured) but it seems there is a legitimate explanation in this case. If I had the $$$$ I would have no problem purchasing the het pieds being advertised. Case closed!:)

Supposedly they are the same person.

I was to work out a trade with him and after three weeks of wasting our time he was to ship the snakes so I could match them with ralph davis's pics since they were het. When I said this and it came time he said the guy who has them can't be found and so all the time was wasted. Seems very suspicious....

Paco if you read this, nothing personal but if you are going to sell animals that you yourself are not producing, make sure you've got a better grip on the situation because someone else's mistakes can spoil your name for good. It's not worth it...
for any kind of money.

Sean... No offense taken. You do not have to worry about my name it will be fine. every customer I deal with will be 100% staisfied at the end of our transactions. Look as far as wasting your time don't even go there, that is not cool. The guy that I traded the hets produced by Ralph Davis wanted to buy the hets back. There was nothing that I could do about the situation. You are basically accusing me of not owning the animals which is not the case(that is also not cool). I can verify that I did own these animals and sold them back, so don't even act like that I might not have owned these animals. This is how business's get a Bad name. When people do not tell the whole story. I explained the whole situation to you right from the start about the hets and the entire situation( don't act like you did not know that the hets were not in my position). I had no idea that the guy wanted to buy them back and also explained this to you. But you found it necassary to come here and post a negetive post about me. I thought that you were a better person than that, guess not. Anyway to all you people who did not come to me directly and ask what deal was now you know. I will tell every one right now that you will be seeing a lot of Crazy Colored Reptiles in the future. I will be a major player in the future reptile market, So keep your eyes peeled. Thanks to all who responded who know how GOOD Brokers work and that this a part of this industry, good or bad. People buy and resell animals all the time it is part of the trade.
