In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, it has been raining her in New England for almost a week now, and is going to rain until at least Wednesday. With that comes floods. I have to keep a pump running about 20 hours a day to keep the water out of my house. Some roads are flooded so bad that my car will barely make it thru without stalling out. And, some people have small lakes in their yards...

I took these pictures today with my camera phone (not too bad for a cell phone camera). It is the Merrimack River

LOL cool pics!! It's absolutely reaking havoc for sure!! I almost hydro-plained right off 495 today on my way to work. Then on my way home I drove through a 4ft. deep puddle. It came right over the hood and through the doors. (Just Barely made it) :) They called state of emergency today. They said to be exrta careful for mudslides. Please Be very carefull if you have to drive anywhere Jeanne.

Yikes! Here in Chicago, it decided that it should be winter again. We've had a few days in the 40s with rain, rain, rain. Today we FINALLY get to see the sun again. I don't know how people in Seattle put up with all that gloomy rain and no sun.

Ian- There are a few areas around here, especially where they are digging to build new houses, where the dirst has flowed in the street. I hope we don't get any big mudslides near my house, there is a HUGE hill about a 1/4 mile or less from my down the road :ack2:

Shanti, what is the "Sun" LOL! Haven't seen it in a while around here. Ans, it is probably about 40 here as well, wet and cold just dosn't mix

I scoped out the route on my way home today LOL!! I have no Idea how I'm getting to work tomorrow. All the routes are pretty much flooded out. rt. 28 is shut down towards the methuen line, and rt.97 will most definately be flooded by morning with all those brooks, streams and wet lands.

Oh yeah!! Just one other thing. Rt. 28 going the opposite way towards Derry was a Mini rapid at about 11:00 this morning, so I can just imagine what it's like now. :willy_nil

I'm in that line of thunderstorms too, and doesn't look like we'll have a dry day for a least a week here, and least it's int he 50's and 60's here. Drove out to my brother-n-laws for Mother's Day, and saw a few fatality accidents, due to people flying through standing water on the highway. I think we saw about 6 or 7 accidents total on the way there and back, then fire and police were blocking some standing water areas. This is the only thing I hate about spring.

Yeah, we're pretty soaked down here too Jeanne.

With a pump running all day we still have about 2 inches of water in the basement with plenty more rain to go. There are lots of roads closed around here. Makes me wish I didn't drive a civic sometimes.

:hehe:

He He.... Well Just as I expected, There was absolutely no way into work today. All routes are officially underwater. How much you ask???

Did any dams or levies give way? They were talking about that last night on the news. You guys be careful, and try to stay dry. :ack2:

Great pics btw.

None have given way as of yet but it's not looking good,as we still have two days left of torrential down pores. Here's a few more pics!! :) All the areas shown in the photos are generally small brooks and streams or not underwater at all.

those pics are of Salem, NH right?

I'm driving into Salem, MA this morning...yikes.

Up here in the Northeast, we really don't need levies or dikes to break to have major flooding. Just being on the coast with consistent rains and winds from the Nor'east, makes for some pretty significant coastal flooding.

Good thing my little gex are high and dry! :)

Yes that is Salem, NH. Notice in the patrol car Salems finest fast asleep.
Good thing the taxes NH does pay don't go to waste!! You could not be more right. Flooding is so frequent here, as well as destructive, that most insurance agencies do not honor coverage for flooding.

Ian-

Thiose are some AWESOME pictures! Especially the ones of Rte 28. I was able to get to work this morning, but had to take at least 3-4 detours :( And, on every road I was on, Ambulances, police, and the Red Cross were flying down them. Scary. I was able to take some pictures on my way to work.

First up is the Merrimack River overflowing, the top arrow is the river, the second arrow is a 4 Lane Highway/Blvd, and the third arrow is the sidewalk.

Another picture a little ways down the road, you can see the guarrail in the middle of the highway in the middle of the picture

And the House at the Dam, not sure what it is used for, but it sure is flooded right now!

I saw one of those huge coast guard helicopters fly very low over 495. Maybe 20 feet, no more above! The pics of the boat was also the Merrimac river as well, here in West Newbury/Merrimac. Very close to the mouth of the river. It was damn high. If it crests alot of houses are going bub-bye! There was only about 6 1/2 to 7 ft. to go before it the tide hits the bridge. :bolt01:

 Here at home we have 4 inches in the basement, and a group of, much braver than I, gentlemen nailing a tarp on our roof to stop the leaking.
