    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My female just laid my first two crested eggs and i was wondering if the shells should be soft or hard shelled.
thanks
jessica

they arent as hard as a bird egg but they are very firm (kinda hard) and completely white if they are soft or colored most likely bad eggs

thank you, they are bright white, pink when candled, but seem to be quite hard-shelled, they are also quite thin and long, very elongated snake-egg-looking eggs.

sounds good...not sure how elongated you mean....
these some of my eggs in waiting including the tiny one in the bottom middle that I hope all goes well with...I've been on the edge of my seat waiting to see that one, the one above and the 2 on bottom left...those are my first eggs from my second colony...2 bottom left due in the next week or 2...I'm losing my good natured patience lol

i guess a bit more enlongates that leos... but gargoyle eggs come out very elongated.... also make sure your females have extra calcium they seem to need more (you might notice tail kinking durring breeding) and after breeding it generally goes away.... but it not uncommon at all... so just make sure to add some extra plane jane calcium carbonate like rep cal with out d3

I feed mine crickets and cgd mixed with baby food...one time a female's eggs looked not completely white so I added some rep cal...but she seemed to od b/c of it....that was the only thing that was changed...and when I stopped adding extra, she's been fine and healthy since...I don't remember what she looked like and what happened now...it's the kind of time where you think you won't forget something like that and then do...
I stopped adding the rep cal and she was fine (had her seperated a bit)...and luckily there's been no probs since and all white eggs...
I've never had a tail kink...though a couple months ago one of my females dropped her tail (dog scared her when I was moving the cage when I was moving)
so, depending what you're feeding them and how the eggs look, I'd be careful about too much calcium
