Hey all,
Thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself to those of you who don't know me on this site. I've been floating around around Pangea for several years & thought it was about time I branched out.
My name is Kim & I am a chef by trade. Catering mostly. When I'm not in the kitchen, chances are you'll find me in the reptile room. My hubby got me my first crested gecko for our anniversary about 7 years ago & I instantly fell in love & started growing my collection. Now I keep a colony large enough that I've had to dedicate an entire room of our house to them!!
I was drawn to culinary arts because of its perfect marriage of art & science, and I think it is for those same reasons that I find myself so captivated by my geckos. They truly are living art. I love all of the different color & pattern combinations, & look forward to seeing all of the new "designer" morphs that the future holds. I love running my own silly studies - like what factors contribute to structure? Is it purely genetics? Environment? Both? Things like that are just fun for me & I keep detailed logs of all the going-ons in my gecko room & review them regularly to see if I can see any patterns forming. That's how I ended up with the nickname "Gecko Geek". My friends joked that it was just like me to take something like "reptile ownership" & turn that into an ongoing science project. What can I say? I'm a nerd!!
So, that's me in a nutshell. I'm looking forward to becoming an active member of the Fauna community and meeting new friends to share gecko stories with!
Take care all, & thanks for reading!
