Saw these two last night and just had to take a picture. Turns out he's one of the good guys who will stay and cuddle after doing the dirty. Enjoy :)

Thanks guys :). I felt bad separating them but they were locked the day before and I figured they should take a break. I feel like the dad who won't leave the teenagers alone in the living room.

Surgical room clean cage, impressive. Thanks for sharing the fun "couple".

Thanks Robert, I'm pretty anal about cleaning so I go through them all twice a week. Unless they completely empty their bowels and then decide to splash around in their water bowl, the bins usually stay pretty tidy.

I realize you just posted a picture of them hanging out after the deed :), HOWEVER, let me ask...

There is a school of thought that leaving the cages semi dirty, during breeding season, helps promote better success with interest/locks/outcomes. How do you feel your success has been with with super clean cages?

I think it's probably dependent on how people are doing their pairing. We put our males in with the females on saturday (cleaning #1) and take them out on wednesday (cleaning #2), so they're together for 3-4 days at a time. We usually don't see any action during the first day or maybe the second, but by the third day I've seen every single snake locked so far (save for my stingerbee male, but I think he's just dumb). I think for people that are cycling 1 male through 5 different females it probably makes sense to leave them dirty to get them riled up, but I haven't seen any issues with keeping them clean so far this way.

Good job, both super clean cages and a "schedule" Sounds like your snakes are in good hands. Good luck on your season!

Thanks Robert, I really appreciate you saying that :). It is funny that you put schedule in quotes though, as my Saturday cleanings have a bad habit of becoming Sunday cleanings :p.

Good luck to you as well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some nice healthy babies.
