Well, I hadn't opened my incubator in 2-3 weeks, so I figured I should take a peek. The last clutch in (black x blonde) looks good, as does the pastel x spider clutch. The mojo x mojo clutch was all dented, though. Every one of them. I didn't write down when they were laid, but it's got to be right around 45 days in.
<shrugs>
What can ya do, but look to the other clutches....
C'MON, BLACK PEWTERS!!....(I need a male)

nice clutch's harald..hopefully the morph god's are good to you.hope you hit black pewter's and some bee's flying around.good luck with those clutch's.

Dented does not mean bad in most cases. Any pics of the eggs? Might be getting ready to hatch, or might be a bit dry.

Dave

I am confused Harald.. why is that bad? unless you mean they are completely caved in.. at day 40 my last clutch was very dented.. .. then day 51 they started to hatch.. day 54 they were all out..
...

so.. are you just messing with us?? is this your way of saying "YAY, Babies are gonna be hatching soon" .. with that sarcastic tone of yours??

Me? Messing?
Whatchu talkin 'bout, Brandi?

OK, so they didn't go to crap, really - but I acknowledged that in my second post...
They're nicely dented, in anticipation of hatching in about 2 weeks (I think its actually slightly under 45 days for that clutch, though I really didn't write down the lay date - thinking it was 5/4, though, which would put them at 42 days).

I'm looking forward to BELs...but, for some reason, I'm not really focused on that - probably because I don't have a particular need for one, other than to look at it. The male black pewter, on the other hand, is something I want for a couple of future pairings. If there isn't one hidden in those 4 eggs, I'm going to have to acquire one through other means...which most likely means buying it. That will be a pain right in the butt - you know how picky I am (sorry, Deborah, I know you tried to put a positive spin on that trait).

gratz Harald, hope you kick the bad odds to the curb. At the very worst, you could trade a Bel for a black pewter :D but I hope it won't come to that. Keep us updated.

Meh - if I have to buy one, I have to buy one..like I had to buy my male bee last year (well, I produced one, but he was butt ugly). A BEL for a male black pewter isn't a good trade (for me, at least), but it's certainly a possibility.

Dented? Don't you remeber that ugly clutch I had in '08 when I used that crap hatchrite? That stuff just sucked all the moisture out of the eggs.
They still hatched fine though. :D

You'll end up with lots of little ones (to drop off here) :D

Sorry Harald.. I truly did not see that second post of yours until just now when I scrolled up to see what you meant :(

*FACEPALM*

none the less.. hurry up, I wanna see..

and LOL @ Steve

It's called moving.
I've got half the snakes in the new house, half in the old. The camera is in the new one, the baby BPs are in the old one...with the cable for the camera. My new computer hasn't arrived yet.

The mojave clutch: 1.0 normal, 1.1 mojave, 1.0 BEL alive and well.
0.1 awesome banded + unspotted mojave, died within 48 hrs of breaking her membrane - disappointing, but not a surprise (she was upside down in the egg, and never moved much. I don't think she would have managed to slit the egg, if I hadn't cut)

Pastel x spider clutch: 2 banded normals, 2 spiders, 2 bees. As of 21:30 Sunday, the normals and one spider were out of the egg. All look fantastic.

black x blonde clutch: I think they've got about 3 weeks to go

2nd Pastel x spider clutch: eggs due SOON

Moving's hard/frustrating enough....but to do it in the midst of hatching babies!! As a preacher's kid that had to do it A LOT, and then more as a Marine after I left the nest, I feel for ya! (And I never had the added stress of hatching babies back then!)

Sorry to hear about your mojo that didn't make it. I'm waiting on a small 4-egg clutch from YB x Norm. 1 of those guys died before coming out of it's shell. Pulled it out this morning and it was just as you described, upside down. Hopefully I've still got a couple of YB's in there.

Good luck with the rest of your season....AND your sanity as you complete your move. Congrats on the new place, though!!

Thanks, Matt.
Since the mojave clutch is in shed, here is a girl from the group hatching now.
