    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So today it appears that the lightspeed code of the server had a problem and crapped out. Could not restart it myself from the webhost manager.

This internet schtuff is getting old REAL fast....... :angry: :angry:

Seems to be a new problem every single BLASTED day..................................................................................
 
There was something to be said for getting pricelists in the mail...

It doesn't help matters much that I have a flu or the cold or some damned germs...... I think I need to drag out one of the 50 calibers and blow up something. But that certainly wouldn't help my headache much.

My wife tells me that I grind my teeth all night long while I am asleep. No damned wonder....................... :bandhead0
 
I think that like many other professions, being a webmaster has a rapidly growing technical component; it must be frustrating to be at the mercy of the new geeknocrats that seem to be a part of many businesses. It may or may not be fortunate that you yourself have a technical background since some of the stuff that happens is beyond self repair; you may have enough knowledge and experience to realize what the problem is, but it might require outside geek assistance to fix.
Hope your flu goes away soon.

2) People upset the site is slow

3) People upset the site does not have this or that

4) People upset the site is down becuase you are adding this or that

5) People upset the site is slow becuase you added this or that

And repeat over and over and over

Rich, hope your flu gets better, and I know two other sites that have gone down(hard drive issue on one, and server issue on the other) so it must be that time of the month for the interwebs.
