Gary Walsch, you misunderstood my post.  What I said was that his name was being associated with Dan Bifield's, and if someone knew Griff and thought he was a good guy, they should let him know that so he could post to clarify about his relationship with Dan.  Further, for you to call me moronic for -not- jumping the gun and making a snap decision on Griff, but instead wanting more input, is presumptuous and out of line.  Next time you want to throw insults at someone, read what they said twice and give it a day to soak in so you don't make the same mistake again.

Ritchie Luna, you also seem to have misunderstood my post.  I read earlier in this thread that Dan was using Griff as a reference.  Perhaps I misunderstood what was meant by the word reference, expecting it to mean someone who will vouch for your work ethic or reputability.  With this in mind, I posted that Griff should be told about this in the interest of his reputation.  To someone who had never heard of Griff (such as myself), this seeming association with a rip off artist didn't exactly write his name in lights.  So you see, my intention was for Griff to clarify his relationship with Dan because sometimes "moronic" people like myself need to have it spelled out for them.

I agree with you 100% because Mathew won't send the animals back first does not mean that Dan should do the refund first.  That's why I suggested that they use a go between who would make sure it was done fairly.  After what Mathew has been through I don't blame him for being nervous about sending them back, but just the same if he wants a refund the customary policy would be for him to ship back the animals first.  You are right we can't have double standards on things, it will come back to bite us in the butt later if we do.

I think Rob will know this story very well and the other half of it has changed his name when posting ads on other sites. He no longer goes Super Freak Basin Imporium.   So always check out who you are dealing with first.

I have a friend who is the same way....I post for him and do research for him...and check out the people before he does business.  Then when I am convinced everything is safe I tell him to go ahead with the purchase.

Well, it seems like alot has gone on since i last read, or posted on this matter.  First thing id like to issue.  I noticed alot of people making comments about us sending the snakes back first.  Well, ya, i sure would if i thought i could trust this guy.  Come on people, use some common sense.  After ONE phone conversation Dan cursed at us, threatened us, and quit answering his phone, or e-mails!  What kind of idiot would send any animal, product, or anything back for a refund to a guy like that without having him send the money first?  IM NOT THAT STUPID!  Second, a few people wanted to see the original e-mails regarding the deal.  Jeremy doesnt have a computer.  I do.  How many times do you see an ad for a high end animal that says NO e-mails will be answered, MUST CALL FOR DETAILS!  I've seen several, and most people i talk to want to talk to you in person.  Lesson learned for me, i will from now on ALWAYS use e-mail.  Both of the snakes will be looked at by a vet this coming week.  The female albino still has audible breathing, gaping mouth, and fulid dripping from her mouth.  The younger snake seems fine, but will be checked by my vet to make sure.  Dan, you are a piece of work.  Where are your friends from Kalamazoo?  Didnt you say they were gonna visit us?  Is it your policy to send friends to your customers house after a sale?  Did you ever explain to the forum that you threatened us in such a manner???  Again, i hope i dont have to explain why these animals were not shipped back to him for a refund.  Dan, enlighten us with some more of your poetic words of wisdom.

Hey Dan... I do not know Mathew or Jeremy, and have not done business with them. The questions you keep avoiding is:

1-the way you shipped the animals, and the shipper used.
2-the shipping cost, $200.00.
3 the poor packaging.
4-not informming the customer when the package was shipped, or when to expect it.

I am only gathering this info from this thread. I do not know any of the parties involved. These are the questions that the people on this board want answered.

Normally I would say that anyone wanting a refund must first ship the animal back to the seller, but in this instance it is the very credibility of the seller that serves as the "rub" between the two people involved.  I believe, based on what we've seen of Dan's ethics thus far ($200 for shipping?  C'mon, man&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>, it is entirely possible that he would keep the snake AND the money.  Quite frankly, I wouldn't send him anything back until he at least gave the refund to a third party so that Jeremy knows it is available to him when he sends the snake back.

I guess I should have expected you to misread that as well.  Your's is the only head on the chopping block.

A little advice from Machiavelli, dump all your dirty business moves right now, in public, answer all questions asked of you, honestly and as quickly as possible, air all your dirty laundry at the same time.  This will make you seem more trustworthy.  Once you have established a little trust, make restitution.  This will salvage much of your reputation.  

In short, the longer this draws out, the harder it will be for you to recover from it.  Dump all the bad news on us all at once, then you can spend your time and energy building a reputation on trust and good business ethics.  You can't expect to be big or make money if you don't adhere to the highest standards in business ethics and customer service from the -very first sale.-

You have a chance to start over right now, Dan.  Will you take it?
