• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

A giant thanks to everyone who's posted about this Dan Costello in PA being a scammer. I almost gave him $160. I'm posting this so that everyone knows he's still around and trying to scam.
 
I'm guessing that he emailed you directly, using the address you posted in the ad? Feel free to post his email address, PayPal account, phone number, etc - whatever information he may have provided to you.

fins feathers paws and claws is a legit pet store in the area.he has a store in harleysville and quakertown. Also his name is Tom, he is legit. Now I don't know if that Dan guy is trying to use that handle. I'm about 15 minutes from hatfield that's why I was questioning on his username.

I don't know what toms username is from the actual store, but I have spoken to him before. I'm going to have to look into that. At least I believe it was him haha. let you know.

Yes. It all depends who is more determined, the victim or the scammer. A lot of talkers, much fewer are the actual doers.

Heavy BOI activity on him in 2009 time frame. Then things basically went quite. Now he is reappearing again. Guess where he appears to have gone? Joined the Army and went to Germany for a while. Back in the states, out of the army and back to his old tricks? Included is a picture of him in his younger years provided by other Fauna users. Video shows a heavier set version a couple years later.
