    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I and My Partner Bought a snake from Dan about 2 months ago for 400.00 it was for a Ball python Project we are working on. I sent the money, and I got a snake, Not Bad looking, But it died the next Day. Well, we contacted Dan, and he said we could get a refund, or he would find us another one. We opted for a replacement at that time..... After a considerable amount of time, Dan offered us a snake in replacement, not a snake I would pay 20.00 for let alone 400.00 No offense taken, We just said No thanks. Well Now it seems as if this was our only option as we were then told basically it was that snake or nothing. And this time No refund either. We have tried to call Dan and get this problem taken care of, But at this time, He is not responding to our e-mails or our telephone calls.
All we want is or money back, and I believe given the circumstances, we are entitled to it..
What do you think??
All we have are his cell #s and his P.O. Box in virginia, Anyone out there have an address?????

Do you have the CITY he resides in or where the PO box is? I found a couple of Daniel Duvall's in Virgina. Below were found through SwitchBoard.com Hope this helps.

He seems to be selling pretty "unique" ball pythons but as such, the person that is buying from him wants THAT particular ball python, and not a replacement if the said python dies. Yes, he does have the clause "all sales are final", but that doesn't apply to animals that die! In my opinion you deserve a full refund.

I have seen his recent posts, so theres no way he can say, that he's out of town or his computer is not working, all the old stand-by's Again, It seems as if he has some nice stuff, All I want is a 400.00 value snake or My money back. Seems appropriate, Also, The older adds did not have the little Comments, All sales Final.. I guess if you buy a dead snake from him It's tuff luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you. He has been posting for a while and some of his animals look nice. But there was something odd about his ads and that's why I posted this thread

He was selling LTC breeding groups (1.4) for $450. To good to be true. They were all eating until a couple of months ago but now they were off-feed as they were in breeding mode (red flag!).

why don,t you tell these people that you did not even finish
paying for the female I sold you on credit and also that when
I offered you refund on what you paid you said NO just get
you a female like that one or another abarrant female so when I
did get another abarrant female for you it was not what you wanted or not good enough since it was not a blurry female
like the male blurry I sold you . When you finish paying for
the female you will get your replacement not until then you
have my number and know how to reach me so don,t act
like I ripped you off and totally disappeared after all I guess
you don,t rember calling and telling my wife to FORGET
it that this finished its all over you don,t want nothing being
very nasty with her, which you did call back and said you were
sorry and thats ok ,since you do have my same phone number
and know how to reach me .
 
The question remains:

If Tim didn't think the replacement animal you offered was of appropriate value, why not just refund his money?

So Tim is supposed to pay Dan in full, for a snake that died the very next day upon arrival, and only then will he receive a replacement?

What if he doesn't like what is available? When someone pays $400 for a normal or "aberrant" ball python, he expects that particular ball python. Not something that looks similar. If he doesn't like what the seller has to offer a full refund is deserved.

Now, if he so choses to send money again for a different snake that is a different story. It will be a different transaction. Tim's money can't be held "hostage" of this transaction and have him wait until a similar ball python shows-up. It's not the situation like a breeder that produces a given morph and can replace it with another similar one (pastel, piebalds, etc.). And even those can be of different quality/price.

Just my opinion.

There is no other female that we have not paid for. We did purchase a male ball from him before this transaction, and were pretty happy with that. And it was paid for. The dead female is not paid in full, But why should I give you more money for another snake when you haven't found something to my liking?? Paying additional money for a dead snake ?? Hmm Is that really a good decision?? I think NOT!
There is No One in the Business We have Not paid in full for Anything we have purchased,
The fact remains that as the consumer, We did origionally decide to have Dan look for a different female for us, But when what he offered was not to our liking, All bets were off, His wife told us that he already bought that snake for us, and basically, (I must paraphrase) if we did not want that one, we were out of luck.I think I did explain that in the origional post. If Not Sorry here it is.
We no longer want another of your animals, We just want the money back.
Dealing with people that block your e-mails instead of fixing a problem, or just refuse to return phone calls again instead of fixing the problems, well, Just isn't what we want to do.
As for us calling you, are you actually going to come to the phone, or are you going to ignore us again??? I guess we will see......

Well, It sounds as if we should actually be posting this to Chris Duvall, Dan's wife. Thanks for calling And getting rude to Tims Wife, Calling and Yelling at someone's wife for problems that they did not cause, that does not fix any problems, What would, is the return of the money or having Dan Call Tim and work this out.
I Believe we have Been reasonable about getting this resolved as painlessly as possible, But You did not co-operate, Posting on this forum is a last resort in our book, Try everything else first.. But we did try, and finally this is our only recourse, Unless of course you would like to give Us your actual address so we can file a poliece report... That's all we wanted in the first place.
It seems as if someone is upset about all this attention, Well, Just take care of the problem, and it can all go away.

The female that has not been fully paid for would be the one who died eighteen hours after we got her. We only owed him the shipping charges which we did not know we were supposed to pay until we recieved the snake. When she died the next day, we just assumed that we no longer had to pay the shipping charges. We are only asking for a refund on the money we actually sent to him. We have e-mailed Dan numerous times and all of our e-mails have been returned. We have also called numerous times and have not been able to reach him. It is interesting that we finally spoke with her (that would be Dan's wife) when she read the ad we posted on Fauna. I told her that we just wanted our money back, but she never told me that they were willing to do that.

Thank you to everyone who has tried to help us out with our problem. I have tried to work things out with Dan, but I am through talking to him now. His wife called and really upset my wife yelling at her while never offering to fix the problem in any kind of way. Dan knows my address and he can send me a refund check if he wants his "good name" cleared. If that happens, I will come back on Fauna and post that he is clear.

I spoke with Tim Lane over the phone just a few minutes ago
& he told me that he did not write a word of this or wanted to
his partner & his wife wrote this & I believe him Tim is a very
nice reasonable person. As far as the partner & the wife they
both can mind their own business & keep their mouth shut
about things they KNOW NOTHING ABOUT , both Tim & myself
understand our own resolve in this matter & are sure we have
one .I do not cheat , steal or take anyones money unfairly
nor will I stand for any threats or unfounded complaints or
anyone trying to strong arm me for their own gain........

It would seem to me that if Mike and Tim are PARTNERS, then that would make BOTH of them Dan's customers. And since marriage is also a PARTNERSHIP, it would seem to me that Tims wife has every right to state what she knows about the deal as well as her opinion.

Now if there is some miscommunication between the partners, then they need to work that out for certain. However, I find Dan's statement

way out of line. It is their business. The word PARTNER and WIFE assures them of that.
