    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dan Duvall Not looking good

Pardon me? Just from an outsider's reading this thread I do not understand why Mr. and Mrs. Lane would write things on this board or about this topic were it not to hold truth or proper standing. I see A)problem, and B) problem not fixed {yet}. It remains that The Lane's and there partner are unsatisfied and have not reposted any new and current positive things to say. I see only Mr. Duvall trying hard to clear his good name by saying that Mr and Mrs Lane and there partner do not properly understand the situation and it's circumstances. Someone must have posted this.

Dan knows my address and he can send me a refund check if he wants his "good name" cleared. If that happens, I will come back on Fauna and post that he is clear. Tim Lane

Although if the situation is rectified in the future I'm sure Mr., Mrs. Lane and there partner will be quite happy to clear your good name for you quite promptly Mr. Duvall.
 
Speaking of strong arm tactics, last night I received a message from Dan Duvall that I needed to stop these personal attacks or things were going to go really bad for me. I called him back and he swears that he never received any of my e-mails or the messages that I left on somebody named Dan Duvall's answering machine. He said that he does want to resolve this issue but he wants everything done his way and on his terms. He also said that he will not make any effort to resolve the issue until I stop and recant the remarks that have been posted on Fauna. During the phone conversation, he tried to make me feel as if this were all my fault. After sleeping on it and speaking with people who care about me like my wife and business partner, I have decided I need to stick to my guns on this one. If I do not, I will have made myself a target for this kind of abuse for the rest of my business career. Dan has the information necessary to refund my money and I do not wish to speak to him further if all he wants to do is threaten me. I will clear his name on Fauna if and when he has made this situation right.

In my opinion you did the right thing. If he wants to keep selling ball pythons he will have to straighten-up your situation. This site is frequented by lots of people that buy and sell ball pythons and are aware of the "Who is who" in the ball python business. More and more people from KS are checking the BOI before buying, and he already has two strikes...

just for my personal info. what the heck r blurry or raccoon morph balls? sounds like someone trying to sell diferently patterned balls with a fancy name for more money. i apologize if this is a true morph. just usually when it sounds to good to be true it is.
 
WOW! I am floored. I do not think I have seen this level of irresponsibility in quite some time. From what I gathered from the rant above (which by the way reminded me of a 3rd grade bully) you are asking this man to pay for a DEAD snake! What is wrong with this picture? I have never met these people in my life, but that isnt going to stop me from telling you like I see it. You owe him a refund. PERIOD!

I do not know one person who would say "just get me another snake I dont care what it looks like." It is obvious that he is entitled to accept or decline the female you picked for him. After all, the first one you picked wasnt exactly a peach, was it? I'll tell you what Dan, bad news travels much faster than good news. And you know that this isn't the way to do business. You have not shown one bit of integrity in this thread. Integrity, in my book, is how you conduct yourself even when nobody is looking. If you conduct yourself in this manner here on the BOI, I cant imagine how you act in private.

Now, I can see that you are new to all of this. Having strangers criticize your business practices that is. So let me give you a few tips.

First of all, explain yourself in a controlled and proffessional manner. You will get people to listen to your side much faster if you are not flying off the handle.

Second, try to be as thorough as possible in a manner that is easy to understand. Your last post was one long sentence. Not too easy to understand. But what I gathered from it, you basically said I want you to pay for the dead snake I sent you before I do the right thing. For your information, it is not Tims responsibility to make this thing right. It is yours!

Lastly, I would suggest that you offer to refund his money minus the money he owes you. That is the right thing to do here, and you know it. So do the rest of us by the way, and we are waiting.

Very well put Michael. What is really a shame is that he has been putting some nice looking ball pythons for sale. But who is going to take the risk now, when there are so many other dealers that also sell very nice ball pythons and they back them up 100%?

As far as I can remember Mr. Duvall started to sell ball pythons this past year. First red flag came from his ad selling "LTC" breeding groups (stressing they were not WC) of 1.4 animals for $450. The animals are not eating but hey, "they are in breeding mode". According to one person who bought from him they want nothing to do with breeding but yes, it is true they don't want to eat. Secondly they are advertised as healthy. Joel received an animal with an URI and tried to contact the seller with no luck whatsoever. "All sales are final" has a different meaning, "as is" would maybe be more applicable. Tim receives a snake that dies within 24 h but yet he has to finish payment before entitled to a refund(?????). From what we have heard so far he has paid $300 he has a snake that died shortly after arrival but still owes $100?
It doesn't make sense.

I have to say this Dan person sure is starting to sound more and more like a total Rip off. No one in their right mind is going to send more money to someone after receiving a snake that died in 18 hours in order to get a refund. Dan please do yourself a favor, take a step back, look at this situation with an open mind and think about what you would do if the shoes were reversed. You and anyone else that wanted a similar snake as replacement has the choice to refuse a snake that is not acceptable to them in the same caliber as the first purchased animal. Hell that would be like selling someone a 100% het for Pied male and having it die like this animal did then offering to replace it with a 100% het Albino male. It is not the same and therefore they requested a refund. You owe them the refund and you should have paid the refund and you would have caused yourself alot less bad publicity. Since this was posted you have shown yourself to be someone that does not care about the customer in the least and I believe THAT is what is going to cause you loss of customers.

Sorry Dan, This makes no sense to me, I know I am just a Business partner of Tims', and you think this is none of my concern, but all he and we, are asking for is a refund. Forget what all was said and done before now if you can. What is on the table is just one thing. Tim wants you to send him 400.00 because you owe it to him. That seems to be the whole issue. Forgive me for making it sound so easy, But If you do not have the snake he wants, then you need to refund the monies paid for the snake that died 18 hours after arrival. Tim said, and I agree that once the refund is taken care of, Then and only then will this matter be resolved, and the world will know that you are a stand up guy. As it stands you got paid 400.00 for a snake that died, you were willing to refund his money then, but he opted for a replacement. Now after 2+ months, you have not offered a replacement that is to HIS (the customer) satisfaction, and he wants his money back.. You said yourself that you once offered a refund, What's stopping you now??

I've known Dan for some time now and he has always stood behind everything he has done. Everyone is making comments about what is fair and what is not. The truth is, this whole matter is between Dan and Tim. There are issues that need to be resolved which need no other input than that of Dan and Tim. This forum is not the place to slam someone who was doing what his customer wanted. How can all of you make judgments when you really know very little of the whole situation? Please stop fueling this fire and let it burn out. Let Dan and Tim come to their own agreement. It makes me sick to see some of the sarcastic remarks from some of you. I ask you all to think about what you have written. Dan is a man of his word.... lets leave it at that.

I don't know if it's that easy, actually. Dan's "word" on this one has pretty much been "too bad, so sad...no refund". While that is certainly his prerogative, I don't believe it's the right thing to do from a business or ethical standpoint.

Dan has had the opportunity to come here and explain his side of things, so I don't believe that he's being treated unfairly in this thread. It just so happens that a vast majority of people are in disagreement with how he's handling this situation.

I'm not sure what remarks you're speaking about, however, I think Dan himself has been responsible for most of the derogatory personal remarks towards others.

Except for the fact that Tim specifically asked for the opinion of other people in this business, as he was getting no reply from Mr. Duvall at all, not to e-mails or phone calls. Similarly, Mr. Duvall never replied to Joel's e-mail inquiring about a ball pythons he received from him with an upper respiratory infection.

Please stop fueling this fire and let it burn out.

There is no intention to fuel no fire. The only point being made is that Mr. Duvall sent a snake that died in less than 20 hours, and he now requests full payment before even issuing a refund.

Resolving this situation is in Mr. Duvall's best business interests.

This fire will never burn out as long as there are things to be bought and sold. There will always be someone who is taken advantage of because they have a belief that there is good in everyone. I have dealt with some really cool people in this business and recieved beautiful animals along with plenty of good advice. I guess this experience with Dan Duvall has shaken me a bit and made me a bit wary. After I recover from this loss, I will continue my search for the perfect female. I still have hope that Dan will change his mind and do the right thing, but if not, he still has to wake up every morning and be himself. My philosophical and religious beliefs teach that I must forgive him, and I will continue to work towards that day.

Well, I have seen one of the recent Dan Duvall's ads and there is one ball python that really caught my eye. I would like to know if there has been any attempt to resolve Tim's issue before even inquiring about that snake. It's quite a chunk of money and I would like to know if, in the event anything goes wrong (it has happened twice in the past), there is any guarantee that I will ever see my money back again. The snake in question is very nice looking, and I am not looking for a replacement if by any chance that one dies upon arrival. I like THAT snake and not any other one to replace it. Tim has there been any attempts to resolve this matter?

Dan has not made any effort to resolve this matter. In fact, the last time I spoke with him, he only had a list of demands and threats for me. He tried to make me feel as if everything that had happened was my fault. I don't think he ever intended to refund my money in the first place even though he did offer that option right after I informed him of the death. He told me on Tuesday that he would not refund my money, but he would find me a replacement snake if and only if I would stop the conversation on the BOI. I wanted a specific kind of ballpython not the bushbaby that he is trying to push on me. At this time a replacment snake is no longer an option. I want a refund and until that happens, I will not purchase, nor will I recommend Dan Duvall to anyone else. Remember,...... "All sales are final" .......you make the decision.
