In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

no problem man. i just honestly dont like seeing other people bash ones grammar, or lack of it. it seems all to common for someone to chime in on about every post on the fauna boards to take a stab at somones sentences.

Legislation

Insofar as "federal law" for shipping venomous animals...does anyone have a reference to code or a URL address for this legislation? I am interested to read over it, not only to see if the text is being reasonably interpreted, but also to see how it may (or may not) affect the shipping of tarantulas and scorpions...

Wow, I guess there are a many more naive people out there than I thought. And some are commenting and speculating on many issues when the facts have already been provided. As I said earlier, believe nothing this kid tells you, not one word of any sentence he has written has been in the least accurate or truthful and everything he has written is misleading.

How many professors are out there that are trying to analyze sentences and avoiding the fact that this kid sent a dead rotten snake and bribed so he would not get in trouble for it?

I am waiting anyone's email so I can put them in touch with a reference they know. If everyone is so good with the typing, why hasn't anyone sent an email?

i just read something
Florida:

Native Venomous: Permit required

Exotic Venomous: Permit required

Protected Native Venomous: None

i am curiuos dan, do you own a permit? if so i think you would be in more trouble than serpentboy..............

Thanks for the info, but...

...not exactly what I am looking for. There have been repeated references to FEDERAL legislation on the INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION of venomous animals. I am interested in consulting a primary reference, both for my own edification, and to avoid relying on hearsay. This is important, as I have seen several faulty interpretations of the Endangered Species Act, the Lacey Act, and CITES over the years from people who had a great deal of experience, but relied on "common knowledge" of the legislation, to their detriment.

Thanks Again,

for some reason it wont let me edit my last post, i had meant to say. IF he dont own a permit he would be in alotta trouble...............

Yes, I have had a license and have kept venomous snakes for many years, including while in Asia.

Personally it does not matter to me if anyone in the reptile trade or business believes the facts I've provided because most of you deserve eachother.

What does matter and is vital here is that prospecting customers and the general public can utilize this forum and gather some determination of the nature of a business before completing a transaction with an individual or company.

Now if you read the beginning of the thread, Ben Seigel has already vouched that the snake was dead. Further, the day I received it at my home, I asked him to do a favor for me and photo the snake because at the time I did not own a digital camera. I took the corps to him, he saw it dead, he smelled it dead, and he saw its emaciated rotted diseased body, and he also took a picture of the dead snake for me. Now Ben does not deal venomous snakes and does not need the hassle of what some boneheads could twist this situation into.

Again, every word Serpentboy has written is a lie and he is only misleading the public. He is fearful to call Ben because he knows Ben saw the dead snake and Ben took a photo of the dead snake.

I do not wish to have Ben bothered or harassed with this issue further because it only adds to why Serpentboy initiated a post under my name and not Serpentboy's name, so please do not contact Ben or harass him with this issue.

Serpentboy is only interested in ensuring that prospective customers do not learn about his deceit, fraud, and thievery. And he is out to blemish his competition.

What is even more problematic, is that many of the readers here are helping Serpentboy's cause? Did I say deserve each other earlier?

Now if one of you out there has the capability to link this thread to Serpentboys name, then you would be serving the public well. If not, then please keep the analysis part of your inquires to yourself.

Again, if anyone would like to discuss this matter, give me a call, 954-426-8268. Send an email so I know to go off line. I would be glad to discuss this with anyone who really has a dedicated interest in it. Oh, and Serpentboy, guess what just went out in the mail to UPS and several other carriers and investigative services? I know it was against the law to record our conversations, but I will take a slap on the hand for it as long as you get a big tickle as a result. Would you like me to take the time to put a dictation of your words on this forum. I think Texas Fish and Game would like to see it.

I hope your home when they come knocking.

This one has been fun!

Having never met either one of these persons, I don't have a stake in this. That never stops me though. Mike, I hope you have learned an important lesson in shipping practices. You were wrong, but have admitted it. Dan, your story doesn't work for me. bottom line= Mike, you win. Dan, you lose.

i think its really funny for you to turn him in when you KNOW the laws then if you own a license. you also agreed and signed for the package as it arrived, thus you knew how he shipped it to you..... wouldnt that cause the your state game comssion to yank your license for such a irresponsible action, such as that?

lol...

To funny.. Dan the only thing Ben st8ed in his post was that if you said it was doa that it prolly was.. not that he seen it nor took a pic... ups...fed-ex whoever... Do as you wish you will take the screwing in the end.. Be sure and call them rightnow too as im out the door to ship off some of those Hoggies you want so badly from me..... Take care Moronic Idiot... IM thru posting here all has been said. Read some of what these ppl are telling you pal.. I sure am.. Pe@ce 2 all..Mike Clark..;)

i have one more thing to add, if this snake was indeed dead how come a necropsy wasnt performed, pictures taken for proof? if you have had so much knowledge in selling reptiles like you claim. you would know you could have proven it was doa before arrival of "diseases" like you claim. all you got now is possibly a dead snake that died who knows when.......

the saddest part is that if you guys would have AGREED on proper way to ship this, it would have been abled to be settled in court or with the shipper. BUT because you BOTH vioalted several laws in order to satisfy Both your greedy needs, you have what you got now and thats that.

it kinda makes me mad the two of you could knowingly do sometihng like that. irresponsibilty like that could push package carrying services not to allow live reptile shipments period.

dead coral snake

i am not getting into this debate, and agree shipping and receiving a venomous via anything but airline approved shipping is stupid and crazy not only for yourselves, but for our industry as a whole. I will attest that dan did bring in a dead coral snake he said was shipped to him, and that i did photograph and email the pictures to him for his records. I did agree that the snake looked quite thin and that probably did not die overnight via shipping, but if this animal was shipped ground as i have read--thats just plain irresponsible, and could have been alive when shipped and still arrived in the condition it did. We will not even ship a $2 frog ground as it can take 3 days to get there. I imagine the snake was alive when shipped and slowly cooked or froze to death enroute. But yes there was definately a dead coral snake with a slightly stubbed tail that i took pics of for dan. I knew nothing about the specifics of the deal they had going or the trade they worked out, but if both agreed on shipping methods then both are equally to blame. This is the last i will comment on this as it seems my name keeps getting dragged into it--i figured i would post exactly what i know-not taking sides just stating the facts-yes there was in fact a dead coral snake--when and how it died i do not know.

Mike, I had no inclination to perform or have a necropsy performed on a rotted snake that had the last two inches of its body so flattened that it looked like road kill. It most likely died from coxcidia.

Why are you jumping to any conclusion that I agreed to the methods he shipped. Do you know that I recommended Delta to him and he suggested UPS. I have not avoided any responsibility in that anyway and it is irrlevant to his shipping a dead snake.

I may be wrong, but I thought this forum was for consumers to inquire about reptile businesses instead of beating a dead horse about the carrier methods this kid used to ship a dead snake.

Have you read the entire thread? A picture was taken of the snake.

at last...

So a pic was taken ..why did I never see it..? Lets see it now..? Bottom line I'd take Ben's word ne day... I still asked for proof and got none.. and paid you for the snake.... BOTTOM LINE... I see nowhere where ben said it looked rotting... he himself said it could of died in transit... I'd still love to see the pix... I sent a live healthy snake.. look at the pix in my previous post... If infact it was doa... you were paid the price you asked me to pay..... end of story..... Lets see the pix... Im not afraid to admit when im wrong... If it was doa then it was... but it was shipped live and healthy..... u got paid.... Stop crying...... pe@ce... Mike Clark..Thank you Ben 4 posting... and again im very sorry to have used ur name in my heading...

Just curious how you can assume coccidiosis? I believe your vet would have to do a fecal and look for Eimeria spores? Are you sure it had nothing to do that it was sent ground and in a box for three days?

Where's the BEEF??????

Dan,

Ben DID NOT state the animal was DOA. He stated that it was dead. What is lacking is the information pertaining to "how much" time elapsed before he had seen the animal prior to its arrival time. As I wasn't there, I don't know if the Micruroides photographed was the actually sent specimen or not. What I do know is that finding these animals is somewhat difficult. The specimen in the photograph is clearly healthy. It's even feeding.

There's already been ample discussion regarding the shipping errors. I guess we don't need to cover that aspect any further. I would like to add that live arrivals are typically not guaranteed live arrival when using any ground currier. Package after package are loaded on carts and shipped truck to truck. It gets hot in many parts of the states. The animal/boxes could have been left out in the sun.....or whatever? Who knows what happened? Typically the buyer assumes liability for the guarantee for DOA's shipped via ground currier. They don't guranatee live arrival, so why should the supplier? This is a common understanding. When something has expired and begins to putrify, it has usually been dead some time. Considering all these potential factors why wasn't a photo ever furnished? If you gave the snake to Ben, why didn't he photograph it? Ben is a pretty straight laced guy. I'm sure he is competent enough to tend to small requests from associates.....especially if one he knows got screwed. If the photo were to be produced, your claims would be verified.

How many professors are analyzing posts? To my knowledge just one.

Your attempts to summon inquiries privately away from here is curious. If I were you, I'd clear my name here and now. Supportive statements indicating times and places w/ more verifiable proof would be more convincing to us here than just "Mark is a lowly, turd, maggot, liar. Don't believe anything he says".

Atteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen-tion!! HUH!
